  • Patent number: 4568898
Abstract: A coaxial short-circuit device has an inner conductor which is surrounded by an outer conductor and is electrically connected to the latter by a shorting plunger. In order to allow the axial movement of the shorting plunger, the inner conductor accommodates a spindle which is connected in a force-locking manner to a first carriage arranged between the spindle and the inner conductor. A second carriage is arranged between the inner and the outer conductor and cooperates with the first carriage in such a manner that upon rotational movement of the spindle the first carriage is axially shifted along the spindle and this movement is transmitted to the second carriage and eventually to the shorting plunger which is connected to the second carriage in a force-locking manner.

  • Patent number: 4285564
Abstract: A coupling device for coupling a jack connector and a plug connector is disclosed. One connector is externally threaded and the second is provided with an internally threaded cap nut. A cap ring is mounted on the cap nut so that rotation of the ring rotates the cap nut in the same direction. A first ring of axially pointed rigid teeth is provided around the circumference of the cap ring or on a separate sleeve. The first connector has another ring with at least one rigid axially mounted tube for engaging the first tooth ring. For connection the cap nut is screwed onto the first connector. The teeth are shaped to pass over each other easily as the cap is screwed on. To facilitate connection the cap ring is withdrawn axially, against the force of a biasing spring, while the cap nut is screwed on. Then the cap ring is released and the spring urges it into locking engagement with the other tooth ring.

  • Patent number: 4268804
Abstract: Transmission line apparatus for transmitting TE dominant electromagnetic waves is provided in accordance with the teachings of the present invention. The transmission line apparatus according to the present invention relies upon a transmission waveguide having a uniform cross-section which is substantially larger in dimension than that required for propagation of only the TE dominant electromagnetic wave desired to be transmitted. The transmission waveguide is in fact so large with respect to the transmission frequency for the TE dominant electromagnetic wave selected that a plurality of waves can form and be propagated, however, losses along the waveguide are markedly reduced. The transmission waveguide is provided with guides in the form of structure present in the waveguide which prevents a rotation of the plane of polarization of the TE dominant electromagnetic waves being transmitted.

  • Patent number: 4047291
Abstract: A clamping device for securing HF fittings to coaxial cables or hollow conductors by means of a clamping sleeve surrounding the cable outer sheath or the hollow conductor sheath. The sheath is radially inwardly deformed by the clamping sleeve in such a manner that a transformation is effected which guarantees a reflection-free transition to the adjoining fitting. In the end portion of the cable or hollow conductor the outer sheath is engaged radially so that it is compressed, giving a reliable hold. The cable sheath is thus deformed in a definite manner so that at the point of entry into the fitting it has a predetermined size, said deformation gradually or abruptly decreasing towards the cable in a transformation portion. This deformation can be effected by suitable means, for example axial tensioning or by a two-part clamping sleeve with tangential tensioning.
