  • Patent number: 5208722
Abstract: A tower unit for a personal computer wherein the tower unit is a generally rectangular box having a generally rectangular interior chassis. The interior chassis includes a first set of interiorly extending mounting flanges and tabs which are positioned and aligned on opposing chassis walls to mount one or more drives at an upwardly facing angle in order to allow the user visual and manual access to the drives for ease of operation. A similar combination of interiorly directed tabs and flanges are formed in the opposing side walls of the frame near the bottom of the tower unit chassis in order to mount a plurality of hard disk drives in horizontal positions. The frame includes a front frame panel which combines with the front bezel to provide a gripping area which cooperates with another gripping area formed in the rear bezel to allow the tower unit to be easily moved about.

  • Patent number: 5142442
Abstract: A combined fan clearance and wire guide device for use with electronic equipment. A surface generally parallel to the rear of the computer system unit is extended from the rear of the system unit the distance necessary to provide adequate clearance for proper air flow developed by fans contained in the system unit. Arms are provided which are angled from this clearance surface and a distance from side portions of the system unit to form cavities for guiding wires and cables.

  • Patent number: 4796066
Abstract: A printer apparatus having two-sided printing capability is taught. Two printing mechanisms are provided that can simultaneously print both sides of roll paper. The printing mechanisms are physically oriented with respect to each other and to a simple paper handling/routing mechanism comprised of rollers so that when only one printing mechanism is installed to provide only one-sided printing, the paper handling mechanism need not be modified but the roll paper is merley routed differently around the rollers. Retroactively, a second printing mechanism may simply be installed in the printer for two-sided printing and the roll paper is routed around the rollers differently to route the roll paper to and from the second printing mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4179169
Abstract: A facade for enclosing data processing apparatus or similar equipment. The facade is designed to be a free-standing unit, enclosing completely a multiple-component data processing assemblage. However, the facade can also be utilized in conjunction with external structural members, such as existing walls, to enclose the assemblage. The facade is easily assembled and disassembled by available field personnel, but has sufficient structural integrity to provide protection for the enclosed equipment assemblage and to prevent casual entry into the interior. In addition, the facade has sufficient apertures to permit disapation of heat generated by the high circuit element density utilized in the modern data processing apparatus. The facade is arranged to permit easy access by the maintenance personnel to the interior of the facade.
