  • Publication number: 20200355502
Abstract: The present invention provides an innovative apparatus and method for onboard spacecraft location determination and navigation by employing observations of extrasolar planetary star systems. In one apparatus embodiment a gas absorption cell is placed between a sensor and the light from a reference star system with at least one exoplanet, such that the sensor can detect the spectrum through the gas absorption cell. Radial velocities can be calculated via Doppler Spectroscopy techniques and incorporated into a spacecraft navigation solution. Additional embodiments incorporate other spacecraft sensor or system data to derive a filtered navigation solution. The present invention can enable and enhance significant mission capabilities for future manned and unmanned space vehicles and missions.

  • Publication number: 20200309886
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for acquiring MR signals of an object under examination in an MR system using a multi echo imaging sequence. The method comprises the steps of applying an RF excitation pulse to the object to generate a transverse magnetization, applying at least two RF refocusing pulses for refocusing the transverse magnetization to generate at least two MR spin echoes for the RF excitation pulse, applying a first magnetic field gradient in a read out direction between the RF excitation pulse and the first of the at least two RF refocusing pulses, applying a second magnetic field gradient in the read out direction after each of the at least two RF refocusing pulses such that the zeroth and first gradient moment is substantially zero for the second magnetic field gradient, and acquiring the at least two MR spin echoes during the at least two second magnetic field gradients.

  • Publication number: 20200280328
Abstract: A wireless access point serves dynamic direction-of-arrival reception. An access point radio wirelessly receives a wireless signal that transports time-domain data. Access point circuitry determines uplink utilization for the access point radio. The circuitry transforms the time-domain data into frequency-domain data. The circuitry filters the frequency-domain data for one direction-of-arrival responsive to the uplink utilization. The circuitry synthesizes the time-domain data from the filtered frequency-domain data. The radio wirelessly receives another wireless signal that transports additional time-domain data. The circuitry determines a higher uplink utilization for the access point radio. The circuitry transforms the additional time-domain data into additional frequency-domain data. The circuitry filters the additional frequency-domain data for multiple directions-of-arrival responsive to the higher uplink utilization.

  • Patent number: 10699097
Abstract: Biometric detection of a fingerprint is provided by a flexible sensor, in which one or more positioning members move at least a portion of the sensor to conform to a shape of a finger disposed along the sensor to enable capture of a rolled-equivalent fingerprint for the finger. Such one or more positioning members move the sensor causing it to curl at least along a region extending between right and left sides of a fingernail of the finger around a front of the finger in order to conform the sensor to the finger so that the sensing elements of the sensor when enabled capture images of the rolled-equivalent fingerprints without rotation or rocking of the finger with respect to the sensor. When sensing elements are optically sensitive, one or more light sources may provide light to illuminate the finger when the sensor captures rolled-equivalent fingerprint images.

  • Patent number: 10693511
Abstract: Radio circuitry wirelessly serves User Equipment (UE) with dynamic direction-of-arrival reception. Control circuitry determines a primary direction-of-arrival for a user signal and configures a digital filter for the primary direction-of-arrival. Detection circuitry filters the user signal with the digital filter configured for the primary direction-of-arrival and recovers user data from the user signal. The control circuitry determines increased radio noise and/or uplink utilization reconfigures the digital filter for multiple directions-of-arrival. The detection circuitry filters a subsequent user signal with the digital filter configured for the multiple directions-of-arrival and recovers additional user data from the subsequent user signal.

  • Patent number: 10631398
Abstract: In exemplary embodiments, a circuit assembly may be provided on and/or supported by an electrically conductive structure, such as a board level shield, a midplate, a bracket, a precision metal part, etc. For example, a circuit assembly may be provided on and/or supported by an outer top surface of a board level shield. In an exemplary embodiment, an assembly generally includes an electrically conductive structure configured for a first functionality in the electronic device. An electrically nonconductive material is on at least part of the electrically conductive structure. First electrical component(s) are at least partly on the electrically nonconductive layer and configured to define at least a portion of a circuit assembly for electrical connection with one or more second electrical components of the electronic device. The electrically conductive structure may thus be configured for a second functionality in the electronic device.
