  • Patent number: 10368432
Abstract: In exemplary embodiments, a circuit assembly may be provided on and/or supported by an electrically conductive structure, such as a board level shield, a midplate, a bracket, a precision metal part, etc. For example, a circuit assembly may be provided on and/or supported by an outer top surface of a board level shield. In an exemplary embodiment, an assembly generally includes an electrically conductive structure configured for a first functionality in the electronic device. An electrically nonconductive material is on at least part of the electrically conductive structure. First electrical component(s) are at least partly on the electrically nonconductive layer and configured to define at least a portion of a circuit assembly for electrical connection with one or more second electrical components of the electronic device. The electrically conductive structure may thus be configured for a second functionality in the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 10319376
Abstract: A geo-spatial grammar comprises rules, syntax, and other means by which a data input is determined to have a meaning associated with a particular event. The event may then be provided to an application, such as a calendaring or messaging application. As a benefit, an input, such as a user speaking the phrase, “I'll be there in an hour,” may be interpreted, via the geo-spatial grammar, as an event (e.g., “I'll be in the office,” “I'll join you for dinner,” “I'll be home,” etc.). An application may then perform an action based upon the event (e.g., reschedule the meeting that starts in five minutes, present directions to the restaurant on the user's car's navigation system, notify the user's spouse, etc.).

  • Publication number: 20190087632
Abstract: Biometric detection of a fingerprint is provided by a flexible sensor, in which one or more positioning members move at least a portion of the sensor to conform to a shape of a finger disposed along the sensor to enable capture of a rolled-equivalent fingerprint for the finger. Such one or more positioning members move the sensor causing it to curl at least along a region extending between right and left sides of a fingernail of the finger around a front of the finger in order to conform the sensor to the finger so that the sensing elements of the sensor when enabled capture images of the rolled-equivalent fingerprints without rotation or rocking of the finger with respect to the sensor. When sensing elements are optically sensitive, one or more light sources may provide light to illuminate the finger when the sensor captures rolled-equivalent fingerprint images.

  • Patent number: 10218144
Abstract: A method of bonding an RE:XAB gain medium to a heat spreader includes using a bonding solution of sodium silicate with concentration of sodium silicate is Na2O at 21.2% and SiO2 at 53% with PH>=11 mixed with nano-pure water in a 1:1 ration. Applying the bonding solution onto either a surface of the RE:XAB or a surface of the heat spreader, aligning the RE:XAB and the heat spreader, applying pressure to draw the surfaces of the RE:XAB gain medium and the heat spreader together thereby uniformly spreading the bonding solution; and then curing the bonding solution.

  • Patent number: 10212587
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for authenticating a user based on the geo-location history of a geo-location-enabled wireless device (e.g., a GPS-enabled wireless telecommunications terminal, a smart card, an RFID tag, etc.). In a first illustrative embodiment, a user of a geo-location-enabled wireless telecommunications terminal (e.g., a GPS-enabled cell phone, a GPS-enabled notebook computer, etc.) who attempts to access a restricted resource is challenged with one or more questions that are generated from the terminal's geo-location history. In a second illustrative embodiment, a user of a data-processing system who attempts to access a restricted resource is asked to provide a username Z. The user is then challenged with one or more questions that are generated from the geo-location history of a wireless device that is associated with username Z (e.g., a cell phone that belongs to the user whose username is Z, etc.).

  • Publication number: 20190029559
Abstract: In a method for a direct positioning of a region of interest of a patient inside a basic field magnet of a canner of a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, a patient is positioned on a patient table, and at least one local RF-coil is positioned on or close to the patient on a region of interest that is to be examined. A distance between the position of the at least one local RF-coil and the isocenter of the basic field magnet is determined. The local RF-coil together with the patient table is moved automatically along the z-direction for at least the determined distance, so that a center of the local RF-coil is in or at least at the z-position of the isocenter.
