  • Publication number: 20050144373
Abstract: A memory system that employs simultaneous activation of at least two dissimilar memory arrays, during a data manipulation, such as read or write operations is disclosed. An exemplary embodiment includes a memory system containing a plurality of arrays, each in communication with a common controller, wherein the arrays are activated by different supply voltage (Vdd). When a processor sends a command to retrieve or write data to the memory system, two or more arrays are addressed to supply the required data. By proper partitioning of the data between dissimilar arrays, the efficiency of data reading is improved.

  • Patent number: 6798689
Abstract: An integrated memory with a configuration of non-volatile memory cells based on ferromagnetic storage contains both powerful memory cells with a magnetoresistive effect with a transistor control and cost-effective memory cells with a magnetoresistive effect with memory elements connected between the word lines and bit lines. The memory elements connected directly between the bit line and the word line are preferably inserted in memory cell arrays that can be stacked one above the other above the memory cells with the transistor, and thereby achieve a high integration density. The fact that the memory, which contains both types and thereby satisfies all the system requirements, is fabricated in one module and in one process sequence considerably lowers the fabrication costs.

  • Patent number: 6774613
Abstract: A semiconducting gas sensor includes a gas-sensitive layer, a heater for heating the layer to a defined measuring temperature, and contact electrodes for measuring the electrical resistance of the gas-sensitive layer enclosed within a microchamber, in which the gas-sensitive layer is arranged. The chamber can be sealed from the outside, and is constructed so that the chamber volume is small enough to allow at least one component of the gas or gas mixture that is to be analyzed to be at least largely exhausted via conversion on the gas-sensitive layer, within a predetermined measuring interval. With the limited gas store and the conversion of a component of the gas during the measurement process, gases or gas mixtures comprising several components can be analyzed. In this, the measuring signal is reexamined following the conversion of at least one component. Within the chamber, several sensor elements may be arranged with gas-sensitive layers, and may be operated at different temperatures.

  • Patent number: 6741513
Abstract: The data memory has a plurality of banks, each with a multiplicity of memory cells that form a matrix of rows and columns with respectively assigned matrix row lines and column lines. The banks are arranged spatially one on top of the other as stacks, with the stack edges that are parallel to the matrix rows and at which the ends of the column lines that are connected to a respective column-driving device are located, lie in a common plane. The common plane extends in the direction of the matrix rows and is substantially orthogonal with respect to the direction of the columns. The column-driving devices of all the banks are arranged directly adjacent to one another as a block in the direction of the columns, on or near the same edge of the bank stack. The banks preferably contain memory cells which can be read out without damage, and in each case a plurality of column lines are each assigned to one common sense amplifier in the column-driving device of each bank.
