  • Patent number: 4639193
Abstract: A single-piece plastic fan wheel for a radial fan comprises a hub, a blade ring having fan blades and an intermediate piece interconnecting the hub and the blade ring. The hub comprises an inner hub ring attachable to the drive shaft of a motor and an outer hub ring connected to the inner hub ring by a plurality of axially and radially extending resilient strips which serve to damp tangential vibrations emanating from the motor owing to pulsations in the torque output thereof.

  • Patent number: 4633619
Abstract: Apparatus for the manufacture or machining of gears with a toothed tool having abrasive working surfaces, in which workpiece and tool, during rotation, are supported by the tooth system of a guide-gear pair. The apparatus works with a single-flank contact between workpiece and tool, whereby for changing the tooth flanks which contact one another, one member of the drive chain can be rotated relative to the other members a preselectable or adjustable amount.

  • Patent number: 4595182
Abstract: A flap member, e.g. a trunk lid of a motor vehicle, is pivotally mounted on a framework, e.g. a motorcar framework. The flap member is assisted in its upward movement by a gas spring. The thrust of the gas spring biases the flap member towards an upper position. In this upper position further upward movement of the flap member is locked by a relief pressure valve between the working chambers of the gas spring. By applying external force to the flap member assisting the thrust of the gas spring, the flap member may be moved beyond said upper position while opening said relief pressure valve. If the external upward directed force ceases the relief pressure valve closes again and the flap member is maintained in the new position by the thrust of the gas spring and the locking action of the relief pressure valve. When the flap member is to be lowered, an external force is applied opposite to the trunk lid and as a result thereof a direction-responsive is opened in parallel to the relief pressure valve.

  • Patent number: 4582304
Abstract: A gas spring, having a collapse safety feature operable in the event of psure loss, is provided, for use, for example, as a counterbalance for flaps or vertically adjustable structures. A movable partition is arranged between the piston and the head of the cylinder of the gas spring, and is exposed on one side to a closed gas chamber under pressure, while on the other side the gas volume effecting the extension force of the piston rod is present between the piston and the partition. In event of pressure loss in the gas volume on either side of the piston, the movable partition will meet the piston and act as a safety to prevent abrupt release or lowering of the object for which the gas spring is to serve as a counterbalance.

  • Patent number: 4190387
Abstract: An apparatus and tool for the precision working of gears, particularly by a gear shaving process. The process involves the step of changing the direction of rotation between the workpiece and the tool approximately starting with half of the advance path and the smallest distance between the axes. The optimum condition occurs when the direction of rotation is changed prior to reaching the smallest distance between the axes and the advance is directed at a right angle with respect to the axis of the workpiece or tool. The tool is rotatably supported on a spindle as is the workpiece. The workpiece is driven relative to the tool to advance same relative to the tool. Control devices are provided for controlling the movement of the workpiece relative to the tool. The tool has grooves which extend from the addendum to the dedendum and form cutting edges and the flanks of the teeth have concaved surfaces.
