  • Publication number: 20160280455
Abstract: A disposable package makes a beverage when liquid is supplied thereto by a beverage forming apparatus. The package comprises an impermeable capsule including a bottom wall and a tubular side wall. The side wall includes an annular shelf extending downwardly and outwardly from an upper end thereof. The side wall includes vertical indentations formed therein wherein upper ends thereof terminate at the annular shelf. An annular upper lip, which surrounds an opening to the interior space, is configured to locate the package in a receptacle of the apparatus. A lid seals the opening. A liquid supply component supplies liquid to the interior space of the capsule which combines with a flavor medium to form a beverage. Pressure build up in the interior space of the capsule deforms the capsule such that the annular shelf tears away from at least one indentation to form one or more through openings. The beverage dispenses through the openings.

  • Publication number: 20160280527
Abstract: An alcoholic beverage forming apparatus operable to dispense an alcoholic beverage having a desired flavor, proof, temperature, and volume mixes water and alcohol with a flavor medium to form an alcoholic beverage having a desired flavor that may be dispensed from the apparatus. The apparatus includes a capsule holder, a water supply reservoir and an alcohol supply reservoir. The reservoirs are operable to respectively supply water and alcohol to a mixing manifold of the apparatus to such that the water and alcohol are combined in the mixing manifold to form an alcoholic beverage mixture which is subsequently mixed with a flavor medium contained in an interior of a beverage capsule. A dispenser is operable to dispense an alcoholic beverage therefrom during operation of the alcoholic beverage forming apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9445150
Abstract: A video streaming system includes a handheld computing device that asynchronously streams video to a storage subsystem. The handheld computing device receives and buffers video data of contiguous video samples and, after a predefined amount of contiguous video samples has been buffered, assigns an index for that predefined amount of contiguous video samples and asynchronously transmits the index and those contiguous video samples to a storage subsystem of a broadcast server system. The handheld computing device, upon determining that the predefined amount of contiguous video samples has been received by the storage subsystem, transmits a notification message to an application server of the broadcast server system that includes the assigned index and indicates that the corresponding contiguous video samples are stored on the storage subsystem. The notification message causes the application server to fetch those video samples according to the index and process them for broadcasting to client computing devices.

  • Publication number: 20160165571
Abstract: A first message addressed to a telephone number associated with a user is received. It is determined that the telephone number is associated with a persona based messaging service. In response to determining that the telephone number is associated with a persona based messaging service, the first message is stored in a mailbox associated with the user. A notification is transmitted to a messaging server that the first message is stored in the mailbox. The first message is retrieved. A push notification is transmitted to a client associated with the telephone number via a wireless network.

  • Patent number: RE46156
Abstract: This disclosure generally relates to stabilizing energy provided by an energy source, and more particularly to systems and methods for using multiple types of energy storage devices to selectively capture and provide energy. An energy source provides energy, and the energy storage devices selectively capture energy provided by the energy source in excess of an immediate energy requirement of a load and selectively provide energy when the immediate energy requirement of the load exceeds the energy provided by the energy source.
