Abstract: Compounds of the general formula I ##STR1## where R is alkyl or unsubstituted or substituted aryl and K is a radical of the formula ##STR2## B is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or substituted amino, R.sup.1 is hydrogen, methyl, methoxy or ethoxy, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently of one another are each unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, R.sup.3 may furthermore be hydrogen, R.sup.4 is a radical of the formula --A--OCO--Y--R, Z is hydrogen or methyl, X is hydrogen, methyl, methoxy, chlorine or acylamino, A is C.sub.2 - or C.sub.3 -alkylene and Y is --O-- or --NH--, are very useful for dyeing cellulose esters and synthetic polyesters.

Abstract: Isothiazoleazo dyes I ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is H, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy and A is the radical of a coupling component are used predominantly as disperse dyes for dyeing hydrophobic organic fibers and fiber materials.

Abstract: Compounds of the formula I ##STR1## where X is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, SO.sub.2 E or unsubstituted or substituted hydroxyl or mercapto, E is alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, aryl, chlorine or unsubstituted or substituted hydroxyl or amino, Y is cyano, nitro, alkanoyl, aroyl, alkylsulfonyl, arylsulfonyl, carboxyl, a carboxylic ester group or unsubstituted or substituted carbamyl, T is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, a radical which can be introduced by electrophilic substitution or a radical of the formula --CH.dbd.B, in which B is a radical of a methylene-active compound or of an amine, and K is a radical of a coupling component, are disclosed. They are useful for dyeing synthetic fibers or plastics.

Abstract: A photosensitive recording element possessing a photosensitive recording layer which is applied to a dimensionally stable base, if desired on top of one or more intermediate layers, and has good photochemical properties and a long shelf life contains special sulfo-containing azo or azoxy dyes for controlling the photochemical properties in the photosensitive recording layer and/or in any intermediate layer present. Dyes which are suitable for use according to the invention can be obtained, for example, by autocondensation of 5-nitro-o-toluenesulfonic acid.

Abstract: The invention relates to novel thienone compounds useful in dyeing fibers, of the formula: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is cyano, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxycarbonyl, carbamoyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -monoalkylcarbamoyl or -dialkylcarbamoyl,R.sup.2 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, furyl, thienyl or halogen,X is nitrogen or CR.sup.4 where R.sup.4 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxycarbonyl, cyano or substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, andR.sup.3 is an aniline, thiazole, indole, styrol or isoindole radical, with the proviso that if R.sup.1 is cyano, X is CH and R.sup.3 is 4-dimethylaminophenyl or styryl, then R.sup.2 is not methyl or phenyl and that if R.sup.1 is cyano, X is CH and R.sup.3 is phenyl or 4-methoxyphenyl, then R.sup.2 is not phenyl.

Abstract: Navy and black dye mixtures contain one or more thiophene-azo dyes of the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, X and Y each have defined meanings, and one or more dyes F whose absorption maximum is at a wavelength of from 390 to 520 nm, the proportion of thiophene-azo dyes being from 60 to 99% by weight, based on the total weight of thiophene-azo dyes and dyes F in the mixture.

Abstract: Thienothiophene dyes of the formula ##STR1## wherein Z is carboxylate, acyl, carboxyl, substituted or unsubstituted carbamoyl, cyano or nitro, X is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, Z or a group of the formula ##STR2## T.sup.1 and T.sup.2 are identical or different and each is independently of the other cyano, substituted or unsubstituted alkoxycarbonyl, alkenyloxycarbonyl, carbamoyl or alkylcarbamoyl and W is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, Y is hydrogen, chlorine or bromine and K is the radical of a coupling component, are highly suitable for dyeing synthetic fibers, in particular polyesters wherein the dyeing obtained have good fastness properties.

Abstract: Disazothiphene dyes of the formula ##STR1## where X is an electron withdrawing group, Z is an electron withdrawing group, D is the radical of a diazo component and K is the radical of a coupling component, are highly suitable for dyeing synthetic fibers, in particular polyesters.

Abstract: Novel compounds of the general formula I ##STR1## where X is hydrogen, nitro or unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or hetaryl, Y is cyano, nitro, alkanoyl, aroyl, alkylsulfonyl, arylsulfonyl, carboxyl, a carboxylic ester group or unsubstituted or substituted carbamyl, R is unsubstituted or substituted alkyl or aryl, R.sup.1 is hydrogen or R.sup.2, and R.sup.2 is unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl or aryl, are useful for dyeing textile fibers, in particular polyesters.

Abstract: Compounds which in the form of the free acid are of the general formula I ##STR1## where A is a radical of the formula ##STR2## the radicals Y independently of one another are each hydroxyl or amino, X is hydrogen, hydroxysulfonyl or a radical of the formulaD--N.dbd.N--,R is a radical of 1-aminonaphthalene-4-, -5-, -6-, -7-or -8-monosulfonic acid or of 1-aminonaphthalene-3-6,-, -3,7-, -3,8-, -4,7- or -4,8-disulfonic acid, or a Cu, Fe, Ni, Co, Mn or Cr complex thereof, and D is phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by methyl, methoxy,ethoxy, nitro, chlorine, bromine or sulfo, or is sulfo-substituted naphthyl. These compounds are preferably used for dyeing leather.

Abstract: Compounds containing sulfonic acid groups and of the general formula I ##STR1## where D.sup.1 is a radical of a diazo component, X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 independently of one another are each hydroxyl or unsubstituted or substituted amino, Y is hydrogen, chlorine, methyl, hydroxysulfonyl or a radical of the formulaD.sup.3 --N.dbd.N--and D.sup.2 is a radical of the formula ##STR2## D.sup.3 is a radical of a diazo component from the aniline or aminonaphthalene series, K is a radical of a coupling component from the benzene or naphthalene series, and the rings in the coupling component D.sup.2 may furthermore be substituted by chlorine, methyl, methoxy, hydroxysulfonyl, aminosulfonyl, hydroxyl or acylamino, and metal complexes of such compounds, give very fast, brown dyeings, particularly on leather.

Abstract: Mixtures of dyes of the formula I ##STR1## where X is chlorine or bromine, Z is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy or acetylamino, R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently of one another are each allyl or methallyl or are each C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by hydroxyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy or alkanoyloxy, or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together with the nitrogen atom are morpholino or tetra-, penta- or hexamethyleneimino, and one of the radicals R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may furthermore be hydrogen.

Abstract: Compounds of the general formula I ##STR1## where R is hydroxyl or unsubstituted or substituted amino, R.sup.1 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 -alkyl, X.sup.1 and Y.sup.1 independently of one another are each a carboxylic acid ester or ether group and X.sup.2 and Y.sup.2 independently of one another are each hydrogen, nitro or chlorine, are very useful for coloring petroleum products, solvents and engine fuel additives.
