  • Patent number: 4758309
Abstract: A device for mounting felts in papermaking machines, which device consists of a supplementary strip mounted along the lengthwise edge or edges of the felt. Spaced apart apertures are formed in the strip along the length of the felt. The apertures are shaped so as to be gripped manually or by means of special tools. Instead of a strip with apertures formed therein separate gripping means in the form of handle loops may be attached to the felt in spaced-apart relationship along the edge or edges of the felt.

  • Patent number: 4222342
Abstract: A coating composition is applied to a paper web while the web passes over an opening in a box in which a partial vacuum is maintained. The opening is divided into two sections by means of a support member disposed perpendicular to the direction of travel of the web. The coating composition is applied to the web in the downstream section of the opening, and the upstream section is considerably greater in area than the downstream section to create a tension on the web and thereby eliminate unstretched areas in the web.

  • Patent number: 4042289
Abstract: In a plug contact to be mounted on a printed circuit board, separate flat contact springs are mounted in a plurality of parallel grooves on an insulating body. To hold the contact springs each groove is provided with projections and the contact spring is provided with mating notches. At the bottom of the front end of the projections there is a slot to receive the contact spring while a shoulder is arranged at the back end of the projections. When mounting, the contact spring is guided by the notches and projections and is pushed backwards in the groove until the forward edge of the notch is locked in the slit and the backward edge snaps over the shoulder.

  • Patent number: 4041962
Abstract: An implement for removal of bacterial coating from the interstitial areas of adjacent teeth and for cleaning the crevices between such teeth comprises a handle arranged to be securely held by the hand of the user. A toothpick or the like is preferably tapered and of triangular cross section and is frictionally held at substantially right angles to the plane of the handle in a bushing mounted in a hole through one end of the handle so as to permit the rotation of the toothpick and thereby facilitate its entry between adjacent teeth for cleaning. A bent-up portion of the handle at its opposite end facilitates firm holding and guiding of the implement. Conveniently the bent-up portion is fork-shaped and cooperates with a fastening device on the adjacent portion of the handle for supporting a dental floss tensioned between the ends of the tines of the fork for interdental cleaning supplementary to the use of the toothpick.

  • Patent number: 3971462
Abstract: A safety release arrangement for a centrifugal clutch having clutch shoes moving radially outwards under centrifugal force to engage a clutch drum. Each clutch shoe is divided into two mutually radially movable parts which during normal operation are locked together by a locking member and move as a unit. When the locking member is actuated by a safety release device the radially inward lying primary clutch shoe part is released with respect to the radially outward lying drum-engaging secondary clutch shoe part and can move radially outwards. By various arrangement the primary shoe is caused to draw the secondary clutch shoe radially inwards out of engagement with the clutch drum.

  • Patent number: 3944659
Abstract: A method for producing the Folliculotropin Releasing Hormone (FRH) biosynthetically is provided by utilizing, as key starting materials, fresh hypothalamic tissue, a buffered incubation medium, an ATP synthesizing system, radioactively labeled amino acids and a mixture of 21 naturally occuring amino acids. Biosynthesis of the FRH is accomplished by incubation of the hypothalamic tissue for a short period of time in the presence of all the reagents necessary to promote the biosynthetic system to produce the Folliculotropin Releasing Hormone (FRH) of the hypothalamus gland of mammals. Examples of methods to isolate the FRH free of the luteotropin releasing hormone (LRH) are provided.
