Publication number: 20240277449Abstract: Methods for generating intermediate stages for orthodontic aligners using machine learning or deep learning techniques. The method receives a malocclusion of teeth and a planned setup position of the teeth. The malocclusion can be represented by translations and rotations, or by digital 3D models. The method generates intermediate stages for aligners, between the malocclusion and the planned setup position, using one or more deep learning methods. The intermediate stages can be used to generate setups that are output in a format, such as digital 3D models, suitable for use in manufacturing the corresponding aligners.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2022Publication date: August 22, 2024Inventors: Benjamin D. Publication number: 20240242260Abstract: The present application relates to a system and method whereby an enterprise system can identify items within an image and recommend similar enterprise products to a consumer. In some examples, such a system may include an object detection component trained on a known dataset, which may be used to identify objects/items in an image. Cropped items of interest may be extracted from the image. The system may include an image embedding and category prediction component, which may generate embedding vectors and predict category information for the cropped images. A visual similarity search component, which may reference embeddings for product images to identify products which are visually similar to the items identified from the image. An attribute-based ranking process may be applied to rank the top recommended items obtained from the visual similarity search component. A final ordering of recommended items may then be provided to a consumer.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 17, 2023Publication date: July 18, 2024Inventors: VISHAL VIJAY SHANKER, GURUPRASAD SOMASUNDARAM, SACHIN AGARWAL

Publication number: 20230190409Abstract: Methods for generating stages for a portion of orthodontic aligner treatment for a digital 3D model of teeth in malocclusion. The methods generate a subset of stages of setups among a complete set of stages of setups for aligner treatment of the teeth. The subset of stages can be selected from a complete set of stages, based upon a target intermediate setup, or sequentially generated from one stage to the next in the subset. Aligners for the subset of stages of setups can then be manufactured without having to make a complete set of aligners. A method to generate a setup for the aligner treatment compares the digital 3D model of teeth in malocclusion to a plurality of setups for historical cases of teeth in malocclusion that have undergone aligner treatment.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2021Publication date: June 22, 2023Inventors: Alexandra R. Publication number: 20220160469Abstract: A method for generating and reusing digital setups for an orthodontic treatment path. The method receives a digital 3D model of teeth, optionally performs interproximal reduction on the model, and generates an initial treatment path with stages including an initial, final, and intermediate setups. The method divides the initial treatment path into initial steps of feasible motion of the teeth resulting in a final treatment path with setups corresponding with the initial steps. For a treatment redesign, the method computes new steps of feasible motion for only a portion of the initial treatment path and based upon the initial steps, and generates the final treatment path with new setups corresponding with the new steps. The setups can be used to make orthodontic appliances, such as clear tray aligners.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2020Publication date: May 26, 2022Inventors: Alexandra R. Publication number: 20220054234Abstract: Methods for automatically removing collisions between digital mesh objects and moving digital mesh objects between spatial arrangements. The collisions are removed from a set of digital mesh objects using a perturbation method or a mesh deformation method. After removing the collisions, the digital mesh objects are output in a state without collisions between them. The digital mesh objects can be moved between initial and final states based upon motion constraints of the mesh objects and interpolated states of them between the initial and final states. Based upon the constraints and interpolated states, a number of states for movement of the set of digital mesh objects is determined either collectively for the set or individually for each mesh object. The states can be used as digital setups for dental or orthodontic treatment planning.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 24, 2019Publication date: February 24, 2022Inventors: Alexandra R.
