The first network device sends at least one second packet comprising the target control item to the second network device, where the target control item is located in the at least one second packet, and the second packet includes the device identifier of the second network device.

Abstract: A packet transmission method, device, and system for network technologies are disclosed. A first network device receives, by using a first VPLS instance a packet to be sent to a user-side device connected to the second network device. The first network device forwards, based on an association relationship between the first VPLS instance and the first VPWS instance, the packet to a second VPWS instance in the second network device by using the first VPWS instance. A VPLS instance is associated with a VPWS instance in the first network device. A packet that is received by using the VPLS instance and that is to be sent to a user-side device can be forwarded by using the associated VPWS instance, so that pressure to learn a MAC address for packet transmission is reduced, and forwarding performance of the system is ensured.

Abstract: An entry generation method, a packet sending method, a device, and a system resolve a problem that a high requirement on a processing capability of a network device is imposed in a conventional technology, which brings high pressure to an operator. The packet sending method includes: A first network device receives a first packet, where a destination address of the first packet includes a first identifier, the first network device and a destination device of the first packet belong to a same AS, and the first identifier includes one or more of the following: an area identifier corresponding to the destination device or an access device identifier corresponding to the destination device. The first network device determines a first egress based on the first identifier, and sends the first packet via the first egress.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a method and an apparatus for transmitting a virtual private network segment identifier (VPN SID), and a network device. An egress node sends a VPN SID corresponding to the egress node to each node in a network, and indicates to each node to store the VPN SID of the egress node. In this way, both an ingress node and each intermediate node can sense and store the VPN SID. When a VPN service needs to be provisioned, because each node stores the VPN SID of the egress node, it is possible for each node to associate the VPN SID with a forwarding entry of the VPN service to be provisioned in a forwarding table, to implement VPN route convergence. In addition, for a of a VPN corresponding to the VPN SID and that is sent by a user side, both the ingress node and the intermediate node can guide forwarding of the packet based on a locally stored VPN SID, to implement VPN service-level control.

The first part includes a common information field corresponding to the pieces of NLRI, the common information field includes same information in the pieces of NLRI, the second part includes private information fields corresponding to the plurality of pieces of NLRI, and each of the private information fields includes information other than the same information in NLRI corresponding to each private information field. The first part and the second part may be carried in an advertisement packet, to implement compression and sending of information used to advertise the pieces of NLRI, thereby improving efficiency of advertising a route by the transmit device without affecting normal running of a service.
