  • Patent number: 5130178
Abstract: There is described a support web for roofing membranes which comprises a spunbonded made of polyester filaments. The spunbonded has a basis weight of from 50 to 100 g/m.sup.2 coupled with a filament denier of from 1 to 8 dtex and has been consolidated with a fusible binder. This produces a high tear propagation resistance and nail pullout strength and also good dimensional stability at high temperatures. The spunbonded support web is therefore particularly suitable for bitumenized roofing membranes.

  • Patent number: 5017426
Abstract: A laminate which, when used as a carrier web for roofing and sealing sheets, shows good flammability properties combined with improved mechanical properties and which comprises a layer of synthetic fibers and a layer of mineral fibers is obtained by needling two preconsolidated fiber webs, of which one comprises synthetic fibers and the other mineral fibers. The needling produces a strong positive join of the two webs, as a result of which the tendency for the two layers to delaminate under extreme thermomechanical conditions is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4987027
Abstract: A support web is described for roof foundation webs which comprises a spunbonded web of polyester filaments. The spunbonded web has a basis weight of 50 to 100 g/m.sup.2 and a filament denier of 1 to 8 dtex. It has been thermomechanically preconsolidated by means of a smooth calender and end-consolidated by means of a binder. This produces a high tear propagation resistance and nail removal resistance and good dimensional stability at high temperatures. The spunbonded web is therefore particularly suitable for use as a support web for bituminized roof foundation webs.

  • Patent number: 4964830
Abstract: A magnetic device that may be used for storing and dispensing paper clips, and the like, and which may also be used as an amusement or novelty product. A plastic housing houses a bar magnet with the poles arranged vertically. The bar magnet is positioned near but spaced from the upper surface of the housing by a spacer disc made of magnetizable material. The spacer disc has a central opening, above which opening, on the housing's upper surface, magnetic lines of induction are produced that tend to orient a paper clip, or the like, vertically on end and which also allow for prolonged gyratory motion of the paper clip about the end. A plastic, transparent casing may be provided housing iron powder or tiny magnet bits of different shape, which casing is slidably and rotatably mounted with respect to the upper surface of the housing, so that, as the casing is slid or rotated, different patterns are formed in kaleidoscope-fashion.

  • Patent number: 4656199
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process for the production of matte, non-blocking, thin-walled molded articles, films or tubes from polyurethane elastomers prepared from high molecular weight polyols which contain dispersed polyadducts based on polyisocyanate polyaddition products. The use of these high molecular weight polyols contained dispersed polyadducts allows for the preparation of thin-walled, molded articles which have reduced surface tackiness. The present invention is additionally directed to the molded articles produced by this process and to their use for forming polyurethane foam composites.

  • Patent number: 4627811
Abstract: An apparatus for producing a spunbond by pneumatic take-off and laying of melt-spun filaments comprises a superatmospheric pressure chamber which is connected to the melt spinneret in a gas-tight manner and has discharge orifices for the filaments. Said superatmospheric pressure chamber tapers weekly conically into a drawing cell. The aperture angle of the weakly conical superatmospheric pressure chamber is less than 7.degree.. The filaments are spun in the form of a linear curtain into the interior of the superatmospheric pressure chamber which is just as wide as the curtain. One side of the conical portion and of the drawing cell is moveable and, at the start of the melt spinning, can be moved away from the other wall, so that the start-up of spinning is facilitated.
