An image enhancement function is applied to the grayscale image to suppress background inaccuracies in the grayscale image. Another embodiment is method for converting a binary pixel of a binary image to a grayscale pixel of a grayscale image and suppressing noise in the grayscale image using selective filtering of the binary image. Another embodiment is a method for converting a binary image to a first grayscale image and suppressing noise in the first grayscale image to produce a noise suppressed grayscale image using selective filtering of the first grayscale image.

    Abstract: A locking mechanism for a seat belt has a case, a locking set and a sensor. The case is mounted adjacent to a side of a retractor having a shaft and the case is mounted around the shaft and has a flat support inside the case and at least one opening being formed on the bottom. The flat support has at least one hole formed therethrough. The locking set is mounted on the shaft. The sensor has a steel ball and a rod. The steel ball is detachably disposed on the flat support and the rod is pivotally mounted in the case and is disposed on the steel ball. If muddy water, sand or dirt enters the locking mechanism, muddy water, sand or dirt can fall through the at least one hole of the flat support and the at least one opening thus avoiding muddy water, sand or dirt affecting the locking mechanism.

    Abstract: A high-voltage selecting circuit generates an output voltage with no voltage drop by means of an auxiliary NMOS transistor turning on the corresponding selecting PMOS transistor of the high-voltage selecting circuit when the voltage levels of a first input voltage and a second input voltage are equal. In addition, when one of the first input voltage and the second input voltage is higher than the other one, the high-voltage selecting circuit avoids the leakage current by means of an auxiliary PMOS transistor turning off the corresponding selecting PMOS transistor of the high-voltage selecting circuit. In this way, the high-voltage selecting circuit can correctly generate the output voltage according to the first input voltage and the second input voltage, and avoid the leakage current at the same time.

    Abstract: A method and system reconstructs a contone image from a binary image by first tagging pixels to identify one of a multiplicity of image content types. The tag information and the pattern of bits surrounding the pixel to be converted to a contone value are used to reconstruct a contone image from a binary image. The pattern of bits in the neighborhood is used to generate a unique identifier. The unique identifier is used as the address for a lookup table with the contone value to be used wherein each lookup table corresponds to an image context type.

The sensing unit is used for generating a sensing result based on whether a user touch is received or not. The control unit sends out a charging-and-discharging signal to the sensing unit, and makes use of the charging-and-discharging signal to charge and discharge the sensing unit. The operating unit is coupled to the sensing unit for generating a mode control signal according to the sensing result. The mode control unit is coupled to the operating unit for controlling the handheld device to stay in a handheld mode or a non-handheld mode according to the mode control signal.

    Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for making aligned inclined holes in upper and lower work piece. The apparatus includes a set of drill bits and an alignment element. Each of the drill bits can be driven into the upper and lower work pieces to make the inclined holes. The alignment element includes a horizontal plate, a vertical plate extended from the horizontal plate and a tube extended from a corner formed between the horizontal and vertical plates. The horizontal plate is used for contact with the upper work piece. The vertical plate is used for contact with the lower work piece. The tube includes a tunnel for receiving a selected one of the drill bits, a space for receiving debris produced because of the drilling and an aperture through which the selected drill bit is inserted into the space from the tunnel.
