    Abstract: Embodiments are provided herein for enabling buffer status reporting for Multi-stream aggregation (MSA) in wireless networks. In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) receives from a network, a configuration regarding one of enabling and disabling cross-node buffer status reporting. The UE further receives a first uplink grant from a first network node, and obtains a buffer status intended for a second network node. Upon enabling cross-node buffer status reporting according to the configuration, the UE transmits, in the first uplink grant to the first network node, the buffer status intended for the second network node. The first network node receives, from the UE, the buffer status intended for the second network node, and determines whether to forward the buffer status to the second network node according to the configuration regarding buffer status forwarding previously received at the first network node.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of communications technologies and discloses a tunnel establishment method and apparatus. Even if an entity for executing the solution is not changed, a type of a tunnel established for each service of a terminal may be the same or may be different. For example, a first tunnel and a second tunnel may be established for a current service of the terminal, and a third tunnel may be established for a next service of the terminal. This eases congestion in a backbone network between a secondary access network node and a primary access network node. Alternatively, this avoids using a directly connected tunnel as a tunnel established between the secondary access network node and a core network user plane node when a core network control plane node needs to receive and send too much path switching signaling.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for offloading data from a cellular network via a secondary network. The offloaded data may be transported over a connection existing independently from the cellular network, such as a direct device-to-device (D2D) or direct mobile communications (DMC) link. The connection may be established between a first peer mobile device and a benefactor peer mobile device, and the benefactor peer mobile device may relay the data to/from a backhaul network via the secondary network. The benefactor peer mobile device may receive compensation for offloading the traffic, and may compete with one or more candidate benefactor devices for the task of offloading the data. The offloaded data may be uplink data originating from the beneficiary peer mobile, or downlink data destined for the beneficiary peer mobile.

A base station determines first resource configuration information, where the first resource configuration information is used for indicating N radio resource sets that are used when N radio communication nodes separately perform communication with a user equipment UE, and the radio resource includes a time domain resource and/or a frequency domain resource. The base station sends the first resource configuration information to the UE, where the UE communicates with a corresponding transmission point by using respective radio resource sets of transmission points, and the respective radio resource sets of the transmission points do not intersect. Therefore, a base station does not need to schedule a radio resource, thereby lowering a delay requirement on a backhaul link and eliminating interference.
