  • Patent number: 4126220
Abstract: A display carton for an elongated bottle which is equal in length to the display carton, but which bottle is of smaller width than the width of the carton is characterized by top and bottom support structures located within the carton for engaging the opposite ends of the elongated bottle for preventing its lateral shifting within the carton. Each support structure includes a first flap hingedly connected to the back panel and lying within and adjacent to the closure flap of the carton, and a second flap hingedly connected to the first flap and oriented at an angle with respect to the inside plane of the front panel. The second flap is of greater length than the first flap and has a central opening corresponding in configuration to the respective end of the bottle, and thereby serves to restrain the bottle from lateral movement within the carton.

  • Patent number: 4126266
Abstract: A blank for forming a self-erecting soap scoop includes a front panel, a back panel, a glue flap and a pair of side panels which are hingedly connected to each other to form the upstanding walls of the soap scoop. The blank further includes a plurality of closure flaps and pull down flaps hingedly connected to the wall forming panels for forming an automatically flattened base portion. Each of a pair of opposed closure flaps includes an elongated locking tab having a camming surface which terminates in a locking notch. In addition, each of the respective panels which is connected to a tab bearing closure flap includes a locking tab receiving slot. When the soap scoop is erected the locking tabs emanate from opposed upstanding panels and the tab receiving slots are diagonally opposed to one another. When the scoop is squared and the base flattened, the camming surfaces of the opposed locking tabs engage each other until the locking notch of each engages.

  • Patent number: 4111306
Abstract: A self-contained baking tray carton is made of a one-piece carton blank of a board material having a coating or film lamination to withstand baking temperatures. The carton is adapted to initially function as a container for food contents, and may be opened via a perforated top panel to expose the contents. The container includes outwardly pivotable side panels having flaps slidably received in the end panels of the carton. After the perforated top panel is removed, the side panels may be outwardly pivoted to increase the size in volume of the container thereby enabling the container to be employed as a baking tray.

  • Patent number: 4109786
Abstract: A carton made of paperboard designed to contain and display round cylindrical articles and hold them in angular position to prevent slippage and rotation which would move the front of the cylindrical article out of registration with the display opening in the front of the carton. The invention may be in the form of a single blank which is folded to form a carton or a two piece blank and insert which folds the cylindrical article against an area covered with a substance such as hot melt adhesive or expanded polymer coating which is soft and provides a friction surface in contact with the cylindrical article.

  • Patent number: 4020947
Abstract: A double thickness improved carton suspension including a die-cut hinged section formed in a panel of the carton with a flap hingedly attached along one edge of the carton having a die-cut tab connected along its outer edge so that when the flap is folded underneath and in overlapping relationship with the carton panel the tab and the die-cut section may be moved together into an upright position normal to the plane of the carton panel so that the carton may be suspended through the use of two cooperating apertures in both the tab and the die-cut section.

  • Patent number: 3998324
Abstract: A tape cassette hub retainer which may be used with different types of cartons, and which is adapted to engage and restrain the hubs of the cassette from movement during shipment. Small die cut flaps are located in a base panel directly beneath the cassette hubs and are foldable upwardly into a post configuration to engage the internal teeth in the hub of the cassette reels. An overlying support panel is provided having an opening through which the small flaps extend and which has a pair of side restraining flaps to hold the flaps from the base panel in upright position. In an alternate form, the overlying support panel is omitted.

  • Patent number: 3961706
Abstract: A combined packer and display carton comprises a multi-sided tuck end carton having a bottom closure and a tuck flap hinged to the top of the front panel. The tuck flap is connected to the adjoining side walls by triangular tabs including diagonally extending fold lines to web connect the side walls to the top panel. A weakened line of separation extends from the center of the side walls and across the front panel. When separated along this weakened line, and removing the carton contents, the upper portion above the weakened line of separation can be folded back to line the inner surfaces of the side walls and rear wall with a printed display surface to provide a display when the carton contents are replaced.
