  • Patent number: 11625763
Abstract: Methods and systems are presented for facilitating migration of electronic shopping carts between devices. A user generates an electronic shopping cart based on interacting with a merchant website using a first device. In response to receiving a request for transferring the electronic shopping cart, cart data associated with the electronic shopping cart is obtained. The cart data is encoded, using a selected encoding technique, into a code, which can be a phrase, an emoji string, a QR code, or an image of a face that can be transferrable to a second device. The code is presented on the first device. In response to receiving the code from the second device, the electronic shopping cart is re-generated based on the cart data extracted from the code. The electronic shopping cart is made accessible to the user via the second device.

  • Patent number: 11621859
Abstract: A proxy revocation service provides a reliable service for performing revocation checks. The proxy revocation service queries public certificate authorities for the revocation status of a set of digital certificates and maintains a database of the revocation statuses. The proxy revocation service provides a singular endpoint that is Application Protocol Interface (API) accessible to web clients. Web clients communicate with the proxy revocation service through use of API message to perform revocation checks, rather than communicating with the public certificate authorities using an online certificate status protocol (OCSP). Use of the proxy revocation service provides both a reliable service for performing revocation checks as well as shifts the complexity away from the web clients.

  • Patent number: 11617917
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide methods, apparatuses, and systems for non-linear breathing entrainment. As described herein, “breathing entrainment” refers to guiding a user's breath or breathing. According to an aspect, an initial breathing period and a final breathing period are selected. Based on the initial and final breathing periods, a non-linear breath rate per minute sequence is determined. A guiding stimulus is output and aligned with the non-linear breath rate per minute sequence. The guiding stimulus is non-linearly altered with the non-linear breath rate per minute sequence to align with the final breathing period over an interval of time. The non-linear alterations of the guiding stimulus vary based on an amount of time the guiding stimulus has been output.

  • Publication number: 20230103129
Abstract: Techniques for automated facial measurement are provided. A set of coordinate locations for a set of facial landmarks on a face of a user are extracted by processing a first image using one or more landmark-detection machine learning models. An orientation of the face of the user is determined. It is determined that impedance conditions are not present in the set of images, and a reference distance on the face of the user is estimated based on the first image, where the first image depicts the user facing towards the imaging sensor. A nose depth of the user is estimated based on a second image of the set of images based at least in part on the reference distance, where the second image depicts the user facing at an angle relative to the imaging sensor. A facial mask is selected for the user based on the nose depth.

  • Publication number: 20230079744
Abstract: An apparatus for feature-based communications is provided that includes a probabilistic encoder and a transmitter. The probabilistic encoder is configured to encode source information into a set of probability distributions over a latent space. Each probability distribution represents one or more aspects of a subject of the source information. The transmitter is configured to transmit over a transmission channel, to a receiving electronic device, a set of transmission features representing the subject. Each transmission feature provides information about a respective one of the probability distributions in the latent space. The probabilistic encoder is configured to enforce constraints on distribution parameters of the probability distributions over the latent space based on a condition of the transmission channel. Enforcing constraints on the latent space in this manner enables the apparatus to transmit features that are at least as unreliable as the transmission channel.

  • Publication number: 20230082625
Abstract: A wearable device to assist with memory that includes a processor, a haptic output device, and a button. When a wearer of the device encounters a piece of information they want to remember but thinks they may forget (e.g. the name of someone they just met; a phone number; a coupon code; an address; a new word definition, etc.) they simply press the single button on the device. The single button press initiates a pre-set schedule of tactile reminders about that piece of information. The reminders are vibrational and/or haptic outputs triggered by the processor that come quickly at first, and then become more spaced out over time. The device beneficially assists users in implementing the empirically supported ‘spaced retrieval’ memory strategy—where spaced retrieval refers to a method of retrieving information at longer and longer intervals to aid memory retention for selected pieces of information.
