  • Publication number: 20020049630
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a charging system which carries out position confirmation of a moving body at a place where there is a radio wave blocked facility, and which carries out automatic detection of GPS antenna blockage for avoiding charging.

  • Patent number: 5829666
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a sweeped tubular bumper reinforcement member having a rear wall formed with an inwardly indented portion in cross-section and a front wall formed in parallel with the rear wall and welded to the inwardly indented portion of the rear wall.

  • Patent number: 5711562
Abstract: A bumper assembly is effective to prevent stepped walls of a concave portion of a bumper cover from being sharply deformed. Cavities are formed at parts of an energy absorber facing to a bottom wall of the concave portion of the bumper cover to define spaces behind the bottom wall. The stepped walls are moved in the cavities of the energy absorber when the energy absorber is deformed elastically in collision.

  • Patent number: 5201912
Abstract: An energy absorbing member (12) is installed in a bumper reinforcement (4) so that one end of the energy absorbing member (12) faces the side member (3) of an automobile. During an accident, if a force is applied to the bumper apparatus (2), the energy absorbing member (12) collapses like a bellows in order to absorb this shock. The energy absorbing member (12) will reliably collapse in this desired manner under many conditions, for example, where the automobile is large and heavy or where the accident occurs under a high-speed condition. The energy absorbing member (12) is of a tubular shape with smooth and straight surfaces so that the energy absorbing member (12) can be easily produced by an extraction forming method or the like. Furthermore, the energy absorbing member (12) is installed within the bumper reinforcement (14) so that the bumper apparatus (2) projects less from an automobile body (1) in comparison to conventional bumpers.

  • Patent number: 5078439
Abstract: An automotive vehicle bumper assembly includes a pair of side members constituting part of a vehicle body, a bumper reinforcement supported on the side members and extending transversely of the vehicle body, and an energy absorber arranged on a front surface of the bumper reinforcement. The bumper reinforcement has a rectangular cross section, upper and lower walls, and an intermediate wall connecting the upper and lower walls.

  • Patent number: 4996634
Abstract: A vehicular bumper reinforcement to which a rear portion of a bumper shell mounting a lamp is secured includes a vertical front wall having a cut-out portion through which a mounting portion of the lamp is passed, a vertical rear wall having a cut-out portion through which the lamp is capable of moving at the time of a collision, and flanges provided above and below the cut-out portions and spaced apart from each other by a distance somewhat greater than the height of the lamp mounting portion. At least one hollow portion formed integral with the reinforcement is provided above and below each of the flanges.
