  • Publication number: 20060057312
Abstract: There are provided laminated bodies or laminated body-containing windows, which comprise isotropic aqueous solutions obtained by dissolving a water-soluble polysaccharide derivative having nonionic amphipathic functional groups in an aqueous medium composed of water and an amphipathic substance, laminated between plates that are at least partially transparent and allow direct vision of the isotropic aqueous solutions, wherein there are added to the isotropic aqueous solutions in appropriate amounts ultraviolet absorbers comprising nonionic or ionic benzophenone derivatives or benzotriazole derivatives which are highly weather resistant and uniformly dissolve in the isotropic aqueous solutions. The isotropic aqueous solutions are transparent and become opaque upon irradiation with light, and exhibit stable reversible change, in order to provide vastly improved weather resistance to the laminated bodies against exposure to sunlight rays over prolonged periods of time.

  • Publication number: 20050268877
Abstract: An engine balancer system is provided in which a balancer housing (17) disposed so as to face an oil pan beneath a crankshaft is formed by joining an upper housing (29) and a lower housing (30) via mating faces (P), and the height of the mating faces (P) is lower on a vehicle front side than on a vehicle rear side. Oil discharge holes (45a, 46) for discharging oil that is within the balancer housing (17) are formed in the mating faces (P) on the higher side of the balancer housing (17) and in the upper housing (29) above the mating faces (P) on the lower side of the balancer housing (17). This enables the position of the oil discharge hole (45a) on the lower side to be as high as possible, thereby suppressing penetration of oil into the interior of the balancer housing (17) through the oil discharge hole (45a).

  • Patent number: 6930154
Abstract: A high-molecular flocculant rendered water-soluble by conversion of cyano groups contained in a high-molecular material, a method for producing the flocculant, and a method for efficiently processing water using the flocculant. A high-molecular material containing acrylonitrile as a monomer is processed safely to impart hydrophilicity to the material and the resulting product is used for water processing to contribute to environmental conservation. An amino compound is added to a cyano group containing high-molecular material to convert at least a portion of the cyano group (—C?N) into a molecular structure portion having an imidamino structure and, if necessary, to convert at, least the portion into one of an acid salt, a quaternary ammonium salt or a hydrolyzate structure portion to give a high-molecular flocculant. Alternatively, a high-molecular material having cyano groups is hydrolysed to convert the cyano group into carbamoyl groups, carboxylic groups or their salts to give a high-molecular flocculant.

  • Publication number: 20040040636
Abstract: A metallic member forming method capable of achieving both formability of a metallic member and highly strengthening same. Cylindrical metallic member 1 having a hollow space 10 and forming die 3 having a forming face 31 are used. Metallic member 1 is heated up to a temperature range capable of quench-reinforcing (e.g., not less than A1 transformation point). By increasing internal pressure of gas contained in the hollow space 10 of the metallic member 1 a wall 1a of the metallic member 1 is bulged and/or deformed, and the bulged, deformed wall 1a of the metallic member 1 is deformed by bringing it into intimate contact with the forming face 31 of the forming die concurrently with quench-reinforcing it. High strengthening of the metallic member 1 is achieved.
