  • Publication number: 20140175826
Abstract: A vehicle having a tailgate attached by hinge assemblies. The hinge assemblies have a pair of first hinge halves secured to a rear sill with a hinge leaf extending rearwardly, and a pair of second hinge halves, each secured to the tailgate with a pair of double hinge plates extending therefrom. Each of the second hinge halves include a hinge pin mounted thereto that is selectively slidable between a removal position, a locked position where each of the hinge pins extends into hinge pin holes in the second hinge halves and hinge pin holes of the first hinge halves to pivotally secure the tailgate to the vehicle, and an install position where a tapered end of each of the hinge pins is located in a gap. A latch secures the tailgate in a closed position and releases the tailgate for pivoting about the hinge pins.

Abstract: A novel system and method of performing a game on an electronic device is described. A list of one or more friends is accessed. The list may be accessed from a third-party social networking site. A wager or bet is placed for the electronic game using at least one friend from the list of friends. Next, a user participates in at least one turn of the electronic game. Depending on the outcome for the turn of the electronic game there are two possibilities. In the case of a winning outcome of the electronic game, the at least one friend stays on the list of friends. Otherwise, in the case of a losing outcome of the electronic game, the at least one friend is removed from the list of friends.

  • Patent number: 8736784
Abstract: An environmental seal between two compartments, such as in a process transmitter, linked by a passageway contains an electrical cable. The seal includes a stop, a cable gland body, a compression bushing, a cable gland nut, and a first elastomeric seal. The stop projects from an interior surface of the passageway. The cable gland body is in contact with the stop and encircles a portion of the electrical cable. The compression bushing is within the cable gland body and encircles the portion of the electrical cable. The cable gland nut compresses the compression bushing and seals the compression bushing against the electrical cable and against an interior surface of the cable gland body. The first elastomeric seal seals between an exterior surface of the cable gland body and the interior surface of the passageway.

  • Patent number: 8602964
Abstract: An electromechanical actuator (100) suitable, for example, in hearing aid applications is disclosed. Certain embodiments of the actuator comprise a hermetic titanium housing (1), a mechanical output structure (110) emulating the long process of incus (8), and means for efficiently generating movement in the audible frequency range. The electromechanical actuator (100) may be configured to be coupled to the inner ear fluids via a conventional stapes prosthesis. The implantable actuator (100), which may be considered to be operably equivalent to a loudspeaker of a conventional hearing aid, may bypass the outer and the middle ear in order to directly drive the inner ear fluids. As such, embodiments of the electromechanical actuator of the present invention may be used to remedy any source of conductive hearing loss.

  • Publication number: 20130098650
Abstract: A percussion tool has a cooling air channel for guiding a cooling air flow from a cooling air fan to an outside wall of a cylinder of an internal combustion engine. The cooling air channel is tapered to the extent that partial cooling air flows guided between the respective cooling fins are branched off the main cooling air flow. In such a way, the flow rate of the cooling air flow in the cooling air channel remains substantially constant, resulting in optimized engine cooling. The cooling air channel may be divided into two cooling air channels downstream of the cylinder. One of the cooling air channels guides cooling air to an exhaust gas system of the internal combustion engine, while the other cooling air channel guides cooling air to an outside wall of the guide housing of a hammer mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8272364
Abstract: An implement comprises an internal combustion engine having a throttle valve. At least one handle, the inside of which is provided with a gas lever likewise in a pivotal manner, is attached to a housing surrounding the internal combustion engine. The minimum distance between the gas lever and the handle is defined by a stop. When the operator lifts the implement by the handle, the position of the gas lever also changes. Even when the gas lever is fully depressed, only a part-load position is achieved at the throttle valve. In this way, effective rotational speed limitation is achieved.
