  • Patent number: 9384617
Abstract: In an apparatus for checking sheet material a plurality of sensors are arranged along a sensor path along which the sheet material, such as e.g. bank notes, is transported. The sensors each have two components which are arranged at opposite sides of the bank note transport path. For the functioning of many sensors it is necessary that the opposing sensor components are exactly aligned to each other. So as to achieve that the alignment of the sensor components arranged opposite each other is set with high accuracy and reproducible, the relative position of the sensor components opposing each other is defined by means of docking elements.

  • Patent number: 9333331
Abstract: A transcutaneous access port to a user has a coupling member destined to be anchored in a bone of the user. A first valve system is removably connectable to the coupling member and a second valve system is removably connected to the first valve system. An internal conduit is connected at its proximal end to the access port and at its distal end to a vascular structure of the user. An external conduit is connected to the access port and to an extracorporeal device. A traversing cavity is formed in the bone at an implantation site of the user, passing the internal conduit. The internal conduit is routed through the traversing cavity to connect its distal end to the vascular structure of the user. The coupling member is anchored to the bone at the implantation site. The proximal end of the internal conduit is connected to the access port.

  • Patent number: 9272407
Abstract: A percussion tool has a cooling air channel for guiding a cooling air flow from a cooling air fan to an outside wall of a cylinder of an internal combustion engine. The cooling air channel is tapered to the extent that partial cooling air flows guided between the respective cooling fins are branched off the main cooling air flow. In such a way, the flow rate of the cooling air flow in the cooling air channel remains substantially constant, resulting in optimized engine cooling. The cooling air channel may be divided into two cooling air channels downstream of the cylinder. One of the cooling air channels guides cooling air to an exhaust gas system of the internal combustion engine, while the other cooling air channel guides cooling air to an outside wall of the guide housing of a hammer mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9111319
Abstract: A system for sharing academic articles and credential information for a plurality of academic users is described herein. Embodiments of the system, computer program product and computer-implemented method perform a process for gathering data related to the academic user and a process for determining a reputation ranking for the academic user by executing the steps of: creating a user profile for the academic user from attribute information gathered from a user profile prompt, enabling the user profile from the academic user to be viewed by academic and non-academic users and selected for ranking by other academic users, enabling the other academic users to provide a rank selection for the user profile for the academic user according to at least one of research quality, credentials, research articles, and user activity, and determining a reputation ranking for the user profile from the rank selection of the other academic users.

  • Patent number: 9091536
Abstract: The surface shape of a three-dimensional object is acquired with an optical sensor. The sensor, which has a projection device and a camera, is configured to generate three-dimensional data from a single exposure, and the sensor is moved relative to the three-dimensional object, or vice versa. A pattern is projected onto the three-dimensional object and a sequence of overlapping images of the projected pattern is recorded with the camera. A sequence of 3D data sets is determined from the recorded images and a registration is effected between subsequently obtained 3D data sets. This enables the sensor to be moved freely about the object, or vice versa, without tracking their relative position, and to determine a surface shape of the three-dimensional object on the fly.
