  • Patent number: 11979765
Abstract: A mobile wireless communication user equipment device (mobile device) simultaneously stores logs for two minimization drive tests (MDTs) where a first MDT is associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second MDT is associated with a second RAT. The mobile device logs MDT data for both MDTs to generate two MDT logs. In response to a request, the mobile device transmits a requested MDT log where the MDT log may be transmitted to abase station of a RAT different from the RAT of the MDT log.

  • Patent number: 11979779
Abstract: A handover control method is a method for performing a conditional handover of a user device from a source cell to a target cell, the source cell to which the user device connects. The handover control method comprises: receiving, by the user device from the source cell, a handover command including a list of candidate cells which are candidates for the target cell and a handover condition specified for each of the candidate cells in the list; and when a handover condition corresponding to a specific candidate cell in the list included in the received handover command is satisfied, performing a handover to the specific candidate cell in which the handover condition is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 11979804
Abstract: The methods and systems discussed herein describe how a first wireless communication device forwards a reservation signal, which identifies one or more time-slots that have been reserved by a second wireless communication device, to avoid “merging collisions.” In some examples, the first wireless communication device determines that it should forward the reservation signal based on a determination that the first wireless communication device is located at the edge of a coverage area associated with the second wireless communication device. This determination can be based on location information associated with the second wireless communication device or whether a received power value of the reservation signal is within a pre-defined threshold range value. In other examples, the first wireless communication device transmits an updated forwarded reservation signal, which is an update of a previously forwarded reservation signal in which multiple time-slots were reserved.

  • Patent number: 11979784
Abstract: Handovers in a New Radio-Unlicensed Standalone (NR-U SA) communication system are managed by invoking one of a plurality of handover procedures based on conditions related to the communication device and channel status. One example of one of the plurality of handover procedures includes sending a handover command with an inactivity indicator to the UE device where the UE device transitions to an Inactive State (such as RRC_INACTIVE) in response to a handover failure (HOF) resulting from an occupied unlicensed channel. The UE device provides the I-RNTI allocated by the last serving gNB when resuming from the RRC_INACTIVE to the active state; thereby reducing the latency associated with a new connection from the idle mode. The target gNB uses the I-RNTI to retrieve the UE context from the last serving gNB.

  • Publication number: 20240147547
Abstract: The devices, systems, and methods discussed herein facilitate the transition of a remote UE device and a relay UE device from either the RRCJDLE state or the RRCJNACTIVE state to the RRC_CONNECTED state in order to relay data. In some examples, in response to receiving a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) message from the remote UE device requesting connection to a base station, the relay UE device transmits an RRC connection request message to the base station. If the relay UE device receives a favorable RRC response message from the base station, the relay UE device transitions to the RRC_CONNECTED state with the base station and forwards the first RRC message to the base station. In some examples, the relay UE device transmits, to the remote UE device, a status update message to inform the remote UE device of the RRC response message received from the base station.

  • Publication number: 20240129897
Abstract: The devices, systems, and methods discussed herein involve abase station (e.g., gNB) that employs a broadcast technology such as the Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) to relay hidden-node information to the neighboring UE devices. In some examples, a base station receives at least one report based on data acquired by at least one non-communication sensor of a user equipment (UE) device. Based on the at least one report, the base station transmits a message to another UE device that results in the other UE device refraining from using communication resources that will interfere with transmissions by other UE devices.

  • Patent number: 11950275
Abstract: A base station (eNB) determines device-to-device (D2D) transmission parameters for signal transmission over a D2D communication link between a first user equipment (UE) device and a second UE device. The eNB instructs the first UE device to transmit a reference signal that is received by the second UE device. The second UE device reports D2D channel characteristic information indicative of the received reference signal. Based on the D2D channel characteristic information, the base station determines the D2D transmission parameters and provides the parameters to the first UE device.

  • Patent number: 11950276
Abstract: An eNodeB transmits a high priority indicator within a licensed frequency band. In response to receiving the high priority indicator, other eNodeBs refrain from transmitting signals within an unlicensed frequency band. After determining that no other eNodeBs are transmitting signals within the unlicensed frequency band, the eNodeB transmitting the high priority indicator transmits signals to a user equipment (UE) device.
