  • Patent number: 5787261
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an active-line inserted/withdrawn functional circuit board, a data transfer system and a computer system which systems allow the functional circuit board to be inserted and withdrawn with signal lines remaining in an active state while achieving a high speed data-transfer of a bus, and the reliability to be enhanced by eliminating malfunctions which occur particularly during the insertion of a functional circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5774656
Abstract: In each of the information processing apparatuses connected to each other via a network, there is arranged a quality of service (QOS) table to which functions and performance thereof are registered. When an information processing apparatus is additionally linked with the network, a QOS table thereof is automatically registered to a local directory of the network such that an agent converts the contents of the QOS table into service information to be supplied via a user interface to the user. Thanks to the operation, information of functions and performance of each information processing apparatus connected to the network is converted into service information for the user. Consequently, the user can much more directly receive necessary services.

  • Patent number: 5754802
Abstract: A method and apparatus for increasing data transfer efficiency for a read operation in a non-split transaction bus environment by substituting a write operation for the read operation. The data transfer efficiency is increased and deadlocking is reduced by substituting two write operations (one from an I/O device to a bus controller and the other from the bus controller to the I/O device) for one read operation. Further, the present invention improves the efficiency of data transfer by maintaining the compatibility of a bus specification when DMA of an I/O bus having no split transfer function, such as a PCI bus or inter-I/O transfer, is executed. A processor instructs a data transfer operation to an I/O device or bus conversion adapter. The I/O device or bus conversion adapter connected to a bus outputs a write access, and a bus connection controller connected to the bus receives the write access and reads data in a main memory.

  • Patent number: 5638402
Abstract: A bus transceiver in a first signal processing circuit is connected to one end of a first bus connecting line for transferring a data pulse signal. A bus transceiver in a second signal processing circuit is connected to one end of a second bus connecting line for transferring a data pulse signal. Connected to the other end of the first bus connecting line is a first termination resistor. Connected to the other end of the second bus connecting line is a second termination resistor. In a portion of a predetermined length (parallel coupling portion) in the first and second bus connecting lines, the interval between the first and second bus connecting lines is held substantially constant so as to produce capacitive and inductive coupling between both the bus connecting lines. Each of the first and second bus transceivers includes a bus driver and a bus receiver.

  • Patent number: 5462442
Abstract: In a connector having a plurality of first contact groups arranged in a predetermined pattern, conductors whose one ends are connected to the first contact groups, and a plurality of second contact groups arranged in a pattern corresponding to the pattern of the first contact groups, the conductors for connecting the first contact groups and the second contact groups cause portions of the first contact groups to be connected to the second contact groups at different positions within the above-described pattern. Accordingly, even when the contacts of the same sort of signal lines having one-to-one correspondence are allocated to the contact conductors located at the same positions within the boards for constituting the respective modules, the one-to-one correspondence can be maintained, and thus the printed-circuit boards of the modules can be commonly utilized.

  • Patent number: 5185092
Abstract: The lubricating oil for refrigerator according to the present invention is a lubricating oil for refrigerator using 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane refrigerant. Having esters as base oil, its viscosity range is between 2-30 mm/s at 100.degree.C. By adding esters alone or by adding esters having different viscosity to esters base oil, or by adding polymer, the viscosity is adjusted to obtain the lubricating oil suitable for various types of refrigerators. The lubricating oil thus obtained has excellent compatibility with 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane refrigerant, which is an alternative to freon, and has low hygroscopic property and high heat-resistant property.By reducing the total acid number to 0.05 mg KOH/g or less, the corrosion-resistant property and insulating property of lubricating oil are not decreased, and the lubricating oil for refrigerator having having high refrigerant stability, hydrolytic stability and insulating property can be obtained.
