Publication number: 20120127402Abstract: The present invention mechanically protects a surface of a miniaturized liquid crystal display device for mobile phone or the like without deteriorating image quality or increasing a thickness of the device. In the present invention, a liquid crystal display panel has a TFT substrate, a color filter substrate, a lower polarizer adhered to a TFT substrate's lower surface, and an upper polarizer adhered to an color filter substrate's upper surface. A face plate is adhered to the upper polarizer using an acrylic adhesive material cured by ultraviolet rays. For enhancing strength and adhesion of the face plate, corners and side portions of the face plate are chamfered. By making the face plate's profile smaller than the upper polarizer's profile, the adhesion properties of the face plate are enhanced.
