    Abstract: Pyridopyrimidine nucleotide derivatives expressed by formula (I), which are fluorescent and capable of forming base pairing with guanine or adenine, and oligo- or polynucleotide which have at least one of these derivatives in their molecules or at their molecular terminals: ##STR1## wherein X.sub.1 and X.sub.1 respectively represent ##STR2## (in which n indicates an integer of 0, 1, 2, or 3; however, in no case X.sub.1 and Y.sub.1 both indicate n=O); Z.sub.1 indicates a hydrogen atom or ##STR3## (in which n indicates an integer of 1, 2, or 3); W.sub.1 indicates a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group. As for R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, in case where R.sub.1 is an amino group or halogen, R.sub.2 indicates a single bond between the carbon atom at the 7-position and the nitrogen atom at the 8-position, and in case where R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom or an lower alkyl group, R.sub.1 indicates a carbonyl bond ##STR4## formed with the carbon atom at the 7-position.

    Abstract: A floor polisher with a dust collecting device has a buffing pad which is rotated at a high speed by a motor, a circular cover member and a skirt for covering an upper surface of the buffing pad, and a dust collecting device for exerting a collecting function thereof on an internal space surrounded by the cover member and the skirt. The floor polisher is characterized in that the cover member and the skirt are partly extended on a tangential line to form a guide chamber for a dust-containing air current, that the guide chamber is provided at an inlet port thereof with a guide wall opposite inner wall surfaces of the cover member and the skirt extended on the tangential line and an inclined plate which is inclined toward a floor, and that the guide chamber is provided at the outer end thereof with an outlet port communicating with the dust collecting device.

    Abstract: An anti-skid braking system for a vehicle, having (a) hydraulic brakes for wheels of the vehicle, (b) actuators provided for respective brake groups each including at least one of the brakes, for controlling a braking pressure or pressures of the brake or brakes of the corresponding groups, (c) speed sensors, at least one of which is provided corresponding to each actuator, for detecting speeds of the wheels, and (d) to controller operable for: normally presuming that an actual speed of the vehicle is represented by a highest one of the detected wheel speeds; after a deceleration value of the highest speed has exceeded a preset upper limit, fixing the deceleration value of the vehicle at the preset upper limit, and presuming the actual vehicle speed based on the upper limit; and calculating a slip amount of each wheel based on a difference between the presumed vehicle speed and the detected wheel speed, to control each actuator so as to prevent the wheel from skidding.

The first brake is adapted to produce a braking effect which is smaller than a desired or optimum braking effect corresponding to the operation value of the brake operating member. The second brake system has a second brake and is controlled by a controller such that the second brake produces a braking effect which is equal to a difference between an actual braking effect applied to the vehicle, and the desired braking effect.

The first and second brakes are controlled by an anti-squeal controller such that the first brake is operated without a braking squeal, while the second brake is operated so as to provide a braking effect equal to a difference between an actual braking effect applied to the vehicle by the first brake, and a desired braking effect that should be applied to the vehicle. The desired braking effect is predetermined corresponding to an operation value of an operator-controlled brake operating member sensed by a detector device.
