  • Patent number: 5270741
Abstract: A solid ion recording head using an ion generation device, capable of realizing a uniform and stable recording and a compact physical configuration. The head includes a head support member in substantially rectangular cross sectional shape for supporting the ion generation device on a lower side of the rectangular cross sectional shape facing against the recording medium and the driving circuits on side faces of the rectangular cross sectional shape. The ion generation device includes control electrodes having ion passing holes which are arranged such that picture dot to be recorded on the recording medium from each one of the ion passing holes is recorded on a spot around which picture dots already recorded by other ion passing holes are distributed symmetrically on both sides. The control electrodes may have a structure in which a plurality of the ion passing holes are provided with respect to each picture dot to be recorded.

  • Patent number: 4320482
Abstract: A plurality of mechanical switches in an electronic timepiece having a timepiece circuit which performs frequency division and which has a plurality of terminals for controlling frequency division within the timepiece circuit according to external connections made to the plurality of terminals. The plurality of mechanical switches includes at least one rotary switch. The plurality of mechanical switches is connected to the timepiece circuit terminals for making a number of different external connections to the terminals which exceeds the sum of the different possible switch settings of the respective individual switches of the plurality of mechanical switches.

  • Patent number: 4266289
Abstract: A calendar correcting mechanism for an electronic timepiece including a movable calendar member having dates thereon, and a switch cooperative with the movable calendar member for switching between electrical signals to discriminate between the 30-day and 31-day months. A motor drives the movable calendar member to display different dates. A calendar correcting circuit is responsive to the electrical signals switched by the switch for operating the motor to correct the month-end date of 30-day months by rapidly advancing the movable calendar mechanism from the 30th day to the first day of the month so as not to display the 31st day of the month.

  • Patent number: 4261047
Abstract: The date driving mechanism of a watch comprises a date driving wheel having a partially teethed portion engaged with teeth of a calendar driving wheel which in turn drives a calendar display dial so as to advance the calendar display dial a given amount each rotation of the date driving wheel. A cam integral with the date driving wheel engages a pivotal control member so as to hold the control member against the calendar driving wheel normally to restrain movement of the date dial. The cam has a flat side so as to release the calendar driving wheel from restraint when being driven by the teethed portion of the date driving wheel, thereby relieving load on the date driving wheel. The control member has a resilient arm which yields to permit manual correction of the calendar display.

  • Patent number: 4117665
Abstract: In an electronic timepiece, a baseplate having a pair of opposed major surfaces, a magnetic shield plate disposed in continuous contact with one of the major surfaces and a stator disposed on the other of the major surfaces. A pin is inserted through the magnetic shield plate, baseplate and stator and includes a head portion bearing against the magnetic shield plate, and is engaged by a screw having a head bearing against the stator for fixing the shield plate, baseplate and stator between the head portion and the screw head. The shield plate includes an inwardly sloped aperture for receiving the head portion of the pin, and the head portion has a tapered peripheral surface complementary to the inwardly sloped surface of the aperture. The head portion is thinner than the shield plate and does not protrude beyond a surface of the shield plate, and because the shield plate is in continuous contact with the base plate it is not deformed by the head portion of the pin bearing thereagainst.

  • Patent number: 4044543
Abstract: The switching mechanism for setting the time in an electronic wrist watch comprises a switch blade actuated by a double-lobe cam which is connected by a lost-motion coupling with a coaxial transmission wheel having at its periphery gear teeth meshing with a winding pinion on a round part of the winding stem which is perpendicular to the axis of the transmission wheel and cam. The winding pinion and a clutch wheel which is rotatable with the winding stem have rectangular teeth which are engageable with each other to connect the winding pinion with the winding stem. A protuberance of a cam spring is engageable with one lobe of the cam to restrain rotation of the cam until the lost-motion coupling reaches the end of its travel. The construction permits its use in a thin watch.
