  • Patent number: 6426987
Abstract: An imaging system is provided which comprises: a CT scanner; a first storage unit storing a plurality of transverse images taken by the CT scanner; an image conversion unit producing a two-dimensional cross sectional image on the basis of the transverse images, for which the transverse images are arranged in a direction perpendicular to a transverse plane; a second storage unit storing the cross sectional image; a peak detection unit extracting an outline of the cross sectional image for detecting peaks or troughs of the outline; a peak interpolation unit carrying out interpolation on the basis of a specified standard for an outline between the peaks or between the troughs detected by the peak detecting unit; and an image construction unit reconstructing the cross sectional image stored in the second storage unit using the outline interpolated by the peak interpolation unit.

  • Patent number: 6229978
Abstract: The invention provides a developing apparatus which prevents transportation of aggregated toner powder to an image carrier and thereby assures a high print quality by taking a countermeasure to disperse aggregated toner powder when development of an image carrier with developer which includes toner powder and magnetic powder is performed. The developing apparatus includes a developing roller, a developer control member, and an aggregated toner dispersion member disposed in an opposing relationship to the transport magnetic pole of the fixed magnet on the upstream side with respect to the position of the developer control member and having a contact face in the form of a flat face with which the developer held on the outer circumferential face of the developing roller may be contacted under pressure in order to disperse aggregated toner powder in the developer held on the outer circumferential face of the developing roller.

  • Patent number: 6055401
Abstract: A developing apparatus of an electrophotographic apparatus includes a housing for accommodating a developer, first, second and third developing rollers are rotatably disposed in the housing and arranged opposite to a photoconductor drum for conveying a developer carried on respective surfaces of the developing rollers, and a conveyor roller rotatably disposed in the housing for conveying the developer carried on a surface thereof to one of the developing rollers. First and second screw conveyors are disposed in the housing for conveying the developer in an axial direction opposite to each other. Each of these conveyors has an axial length larger than an axial length of the developing rollers. A partition wall is disposed between the first and second screw conveyors. A toner container for accommodating a toner is mounted on the housing. The toner in the toner container is supplied into the housing and agitators agitate the toner in the housing.

  • Patent number: 5986017
Abstract: A toner binder comprising a crosslinked polyester resin obtained by using 0.1 to 3 mol % of trimellitic acid and 0.1 to 5 mol % of an epi-bis type epoxy in combination as crosslinking components, said binder having a number average molecular weight (Mn) in the chromatogram determined by a gel permeation chromatography on the non-gel portion of the polyester resin, of 2,000 to 4,000, a ratio (Mw/Mn) of the weight average molecular weight to the number average molecular weight of 10 to 25 and a (percent gel) of the residue unsoluble in tetrahydrofuran solvent of 1 wt % or less. A toner composition for flash fixing comprising the above-described binder as an essential constituent component. The toner and the toner binder exhibit good fixability and void resistance upon flash fixing and produce little fixing odor.

  • Patent number: 5618648
Abstract: A toner binder is disclosed which comprises a polyester resin in which an aliphatic hydrocarbon chain terminated with an ester and/or an ether bond to the aliphatic group contains a constituent element consisting of ethylene in an amount of from 1 to 5 wt % based on the total weight of the resin. Further disclosed is a toner binder using both of a crosslinked polyester having a peak molecular weight of 10,000 or less and a linear polyester having a peak molecular weight of 8,000 or more as binder resins, the peak molecular weight of the linear polyester being greater than the peak molecular weight of the crosslinked polyester.
