Patent number: 6027359Abstract: A structure for preventing looseness of an electrical connector comprises a first connector housing, a second connector housing having a hood for accommodating the first connector housing, a locking projecting portion mounted on a locking arm which is formed at the first connector housing, and a locking hole formed at the hood so as to be engaged with the locking projecting portion. The first connector housing and the second connector housing are coupled with each other wherein the locking projection has taper portions so as to become progressively smaller in projecting direction of a main body like a square pole at both side walls locating in the coupling direction. A spacing between both lower edges of said taper portions is set to be approximately equal to a spacing between both inner wall surfaces locating in an orthogonal direction to coupling direction at the locking hole.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1997Date of Patent: February 22, 2000Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Hiroshi Aoki, Motohisa Kashiyama

Patent number: 6019619Abstract: There is disclosed an LIF connector in which a reverse insertion of a slider can be detected rapidly and easily although the connector has a simple construction. The LIF connector includes an LIF (low insertion force) mechanism in which a slider is slidable over a first connector through guides, and by sliding the slider, a second connector can be inserted into and withdrawn from the first connector. A pair of retractable projections are provided respectively on opposed side walls of the slider, and each of the projections has an inclined surface and a substantially vertical abutment surface. When the slider is inserted with directions of its front and rear ends kept proper, the inclined surface is brought into sliding contact with the associated guide to thereby retract the projection. When the slider is inserted with the directions of its front and rear ends reversed, the abutment surface abuts against the associated guide to thereby prevent the insertion of the slider.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1997Date of Patent: February 1, 2000Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Hiroshi Aoki, Motohisa Kashiyama

Patent number: 6012934Abstract: There is disclosed an LIF (low insertion force) connector in which a slider can be positioned with a simple construction, and an insertion/withdrawal force, required for inserting and withdrawing a connector relative to a mating connector, can be reduced, and wear and deformation of a slider-retaining portion can be positively prevented. In the LIF connector, a driven shaft of a second connector is inserted into a through hole formed in a first connector, and a slider, having cam grooves, is slid over the first connector to linearly move the driven shaft, thereby inserting and withdrawing the second connector relative to the first connector. A retaining projection, which stops the sliding movement of the slider, and positions inlets of the cam grooves relative to the through hole in the first connector, is formed on the first connector at a substantially rearmost end of an extent of sliding movement of the slider.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1997Date of Patent: January 11, 2000Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Hiroshi Aoki, Motohisa Kashiyama

Patent number: 5964602Abstract: A hood assembly attached to a female connector includes slide members on the top and bottom thereof which are slid in a direction perpendicular to a fitting direction of male and female connectors. As a result of a movement of the slide members, guide pins provided on the male connector is guided by guide grooves provided on the slide members to pull the male connector into the hood assembly, thereby fitting the connectors to each other. A hood portion of the female connector is inserted between upper and lower flanges of the hood assembly with anchoring holes provided on the hood assembly and anchoring projections provided on the female connector in positions shifted from each other, and the hood assembly and the female connector are slid in this state into a normal position where the anchoring projections engage the anchoring holes.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 1997Date of Patent: October 12, 1999Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Hiroshi Aoki, Osamu Sugiyama, Motohisa Kashiyama, Norio Matsumura, Haruki Yoshida

Patent number: 5915982Abstract: Slide members 43 are provided on the upper and lower portions of a hood section 27 of a male connector 25 so that the slide members 43 are movable in Y direction orthogonal with X direction in which the male connector 25 is engaged with a female connector 35. Guide grooves which are slanted in mutually opposite directions in the sliding direction are provided on the inner surface side at which the slide members 43 face each other. Guide pins 37a and 37b guided to the guide grooves are provided on the upper and lower portions of the female connector 35. An operation lever 47 which can rotate around rotation supporting pins 57a is provided at one end of the upper and lower slide members 43. Since the upper and lower slide members 43 move in mutually opposite directions by the rotation of the operation lever 47, the female connector 35 is drawn into the hood section 27 of the male connector 25 when the slide members 43 and 45 slide in the mutually opposite directions.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 1997Date of Patent: June 29, 1999Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Motohisa Kashiyama, Osamu Sugiyama, Hiroshi Aoki, Norio Matsumura, Haruki Yoshida, Takahiro Yoneda

Patent number: 5876227Abstract: There is provided a connector fitting apparatus which can fit a female connector and a male connector to each other by taking advantage of a cam thrust force generated by swinging a lever member. In the fitting apparatus, a cover 23 is used as the lever member, and is formed with an opening 41 so as to be swingable to an electric wire withdrawal side of a female connector 25. When the cover is swung in the above manner, the electric wire withdrawal side is protected by the cover 23, and then, accompanying with the swing of the cover 23, an electric wire 29 is bent and oriented to a wiring direction, thus being led to the outside from the opening 41.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1997Date of Patent: March 2, 1999Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Motohisa Kashiyama, Hiroshi Aoki, Masanori Tsuji

Patent number: 5678410Abstract: The present invention provides a combined system for activating a fuel cell with hydrogen absorbed and stored in a hydrogen-storage alloy to drive an electric vehicle and for conditioning the air with the hydrogen absorbed and stored in the hydrogen-storage alloy. The combined system of the invention sucks hydrogen out of the hydrogen-storage alloy by a compressor. The combined system of the invention cools the air with a cooling power generated in discharge of hydrogen from the hydrogen-storage alloy and heats the air with a heat generated in absorption of hydrogen into the hydrogen-storage alloy. The combined system preferably includes a heat storage tank disposed in a conduit of a heating medium for storing an excess of a cooling power caused by a variation in an amount of hydrogen required for the fuel cell. Alternatively, the combined system has a secondary battery which is charged with an excess power of the fuel cell and discharges to make up for a deficient power of the fuel cell.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1994Date of Patent: October 21, 1997Assignees: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Kabushiki Kaisha Toyota Chuo Kenkyusho, Kabushiki Kaisha Toyoda Jidoshokki SeisakushoInventors: Nobuo Fujita, Hiroyuki Mitsui, Hiroshi Aoki, Hidehito Kubo, Keiji Toh, Masayoshi Miura
