    Abstract: A reconfigurable arithmetic device includes a plurality of processor elements configured to perform first arithmetic processes corresponding to a first type of instruction and second arithmetic processes corresponding to a second type of instruction, a random-access memory (RAM), and a control unit. The first type of instruction is written into the RAM at a first address, data for the first type of instruction is written into the RAM at a second address, and data for the second type of instruction is written into the RAM at a third address. When the first type of instruction is written at the first address, the control unit decodes the first type of instruction and configures the processor elements to perform the first arithmetic processes. When data for the second type of instruction is written at the third address, the control unit configures the processor elements to perform the second arithmetic processes.

A network system for transmitting uplink/downlink traffics using a route having a tree structure with a root node, a plurality of inner nodes, and a plurality of leaf nodes, wherein the root node transmits a downlink frame to the inner nodes and leaf nodes at intervals equal to or greater than an additional wait time differing for each destination node. The root node transmits a downlink frame at, for example, an interval consisting of the additional wait time plus a quality assurance time for assuring communication quality. An interval which is a varying time interval but equal to the additional wait time at the least is assured, whereby the communication efficiency of an entire network is improved.

Moreover, the downlink packets are treated like polling control signals, and uplink packets are transmitted at a reception time of the downlink packets, whereby a hidden node problem and a carrier sensing problem can be avoided. Furthermore, in accordance with routing protocol in which each of nodes changes directivity randomly by a route formation process, it becomes possible to form a more suitable route.
