  • Patent number: 8937986
Abstract: A packet communication system etc., is proposed, which can automatically adjusting the antenna directionality without modifying a wireless interface of a wireless packet forwarding device even if it involves fluctuation in the packet transmission timing due to CSMA/CA etc. An interference evasion unit involves fluctuation in packet transmission timing due to CSMA/CA. A radio emission device can control the emissive direction and/or emission intensity. A packet generation unit adjusts packet features other than its contents (e.g., packet length, transmission intensity) based on a switching sequence for specifying the emissive direction and/or emissive intensity, and generate a switching control packet. An emission control unit measures the switching control packet feature other than its contents, and identifies at least one bit as antenna control information.

  • Patent number: 8693366
Abstract: Provided are a communication system and the like capable of making a stable relay route even when a propagation channel is fluctuated by the fluctuation of RSSI. For making a tree-type communication route whose root is a core node, each slave node, after the reception of the latest reset routing packet from a node, judges if the transmission source node should be the parent of the tree-type structure based on the sequential average of the reception power of n routing packets received from the same transmission source node. As the reception power is log-normally distributed in general, an asymptotically stable relay route can be obtained, especially by using the sequential average.

  • Publication number: 20140022934
Abstract: A transmission period determination method, etc. capable of setting IPT transmission period by using general-purpose wireless modules and existing drivers is provided. A wireless communication system is a wireless backhaul. A route is established from a core node to a slave node. The core node assigns a specified transmission period and transmits a plurality of training packets to the slave node. The slave node transmits, to a transmission period determination device, the number of training packets received first and last and the number of training packets received without overlap. An estimation unit estimates a training time, the time for the slave node to receive the training packets. A calculation unit calculates a training metric candidate. An updating unit compares the values of the current training metric and the training metric candidate to determine the IPT transmission period.

  • Publication number: 20130256968
Abstract: An image processor applies a RIP process to PDL data in order of the first through the n-th sheets to convert it into a scanning line type image data. An image forming section 5 receives the image data in sequence to form the image on the sheets. A controller 45 determines whether the RIP process is required for the image data of the n-th sheet or a rear cover. If no RIP process is required, the controller notifies the image forming section of non-RIP process for the n-th sheet. The RIP processed image data for the first through the n-1th sheets is applied to the image forming section. A waiting time for the image data transmission can be reduced. If the rear cover is blank, the high speed ring binding job can be established.

  • Patent number: 8478330
Abstract: A transmission power control technique allowing stable and reliable signal transmission in soft handover is disclosed. Each of the base stations involved in soft handover measures an amount of loss of the base station selection signal. When the amount of loss of the base station selection signal exceeds a threshold, the transmission power of the downlink signal is not set to the minimum level but to the normally controlled level. Further, a transmission power update timing of each base station is determined so that the downlink signal received at the mobile station changes in transmission power at a predetermined timing synchronized with that of other base stations.

  • Patent number: 8135421
Abstract: The above base-station cell design method is for sequentially adding base stations, and a technique of which throughput is few is employed for a radio-wave propagation characteristic evaluation to be made in this addition, and a technique of which the throughput is much, but which is of high-precision, more specifically, a technique such as the ray tracing is applied for the radio-wave propagation characteristic evaluation to be made after addition. The result of the high-precision radio-wave propagation characteristic evaluation to be made after this addition is put to practical use for estimating an interference quantity in selecting the arrangement location of the base station to be added newly. This allows the quantity of the radio wave analytic processing, which accounts for a large majority of the base-station cell design processing, to be reduced, thus enabling a fast base-station cell design.

  • Patent number: 8027275
Abstract: A control packet is broadcast over a route, containing first and second metric values of different transmission characteristics of the route. At a local node, control packets from multiple nodes are received and examined for their source. If the packets are received from upstream nodes, the metrics of the received packets are updated, the second metric is weighted and summed with the first metric to produce a number of combined metrics and a minimum value of the combined metrics is detected. One of the routes having the detected value is selected as a route to an upstream node. If the control packets are received from downstream nodes, the second metric is weighted and summed with the first metric to produce a number of combined metrics and a smaller values of combined metrics are detected corresponding in number to usable antennas and routes of the detected values are selected.

  • Publication number: 20110157641
Abstract: In an image forming system configured with image forming apparatuses and an administration server connected with the image forming apparatuses thereof via Internet, the image forming unit, mounted at the image forming section in a detachable manner, stores unit information which includes identification data and information of times of use. An operation section creates unit replacing permission information to permit the image forming unit to be dismounted from the image forming section. A control section receives the unit replacing permission information and reads out the unit information. The communication section transmits the unit information to the administration server. Whereby, the administration server can recognize the image forming unit dismounted from the image forming section and the times of used of the image forming unit just before dismounting, therefore the burden of the service engineer can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20110090835
Abstract: There are proposed: a network system capable of realizing packet forwarding higher in packet forwarding efficiency than in conventional Intermittent Periodic Transmit (IPT) using omni-directional antennas; and the like. Directional antennas are applied to the IPT, and each of slave nodes waits for reception of downlink packets by a directional antenna for receiving the downlink packets in a reception waiting state therefor. Moreover, the downlink packets are treated like polling control signals, and uplink packets are transmitted at a reception time of the downlink packets, whereby a hidden node problem and a carrier sensing problem can be avoided. Furthermore, in accordance with routing protocol in which each of nodes changes directivity randomly by a route formation process, it becomes possible to form a more suitable route.
