  • Patent number: 7567246
Abstract: This invention provides an apparatus and the like, which render an object from a predetermined view direction by a method using microfacet billboarding using 2D images obtained by photographing an object to be rendered from a plurality of photographing directions, and a depth image of the object to be rendered. This method obtains the geometrical shape of the object to be rendered on the basis of the depth image and the like, and approximates the geometrical shape using a set of microfacets whose directions change depending on the view direction. By mapping 2D images selected based on the view direction and photographing directions onto the respective microfacets as texture images, an arbitrary shaped object and landscape can be efficiently rendered.

  • Publication number: 20090097039
Abstract: It is possible to measure a 3-dimensional shape by using a projector and an imaging device without requiring calibration in advance. A pattern light is applied from a projector to an object and this is imaged by an imaging device to capture an image as an input. An in-camera parameter, an in-projector parameter, a parameter of positional relationship between the camera and the projector are estimated. By using the estimation results, a 3-dimensional shape of the object is measured. When a laser pointer is attached to the projector and a laser is applied to the object for capturing an image as an input, scaling of the object shape can also be estimated. Moreover, when measuring a plurality of objects or measuring the same objects a plurality of times, the accuracy of the 3-dimensional shape respectively obtained can be increased by simultaneously processing the inputs.

  • Publication number: 20080211382
Abstract: The present invention achieves a desired white color temperature without deteriorating white uniformity and without lowering brightness in a field emission display (FED). A width of a green phosphor is set larger than a width of a red phosphor or a width of a blue phosphor and, at the same time, a distance between the center of the red phosphor and the center of the green phosphor is set larger than a distance between the center of the blue phosphor and the center of the red phosphor. Due to such a constitution, black matrix widths between the respective phosphors are set to a fixed value. Simultaneously, positions of electron sources are set in conformity with the positions of the respective phosphors. Due to such a constitution, it is possible to realize a desired white color temperature without deteriorating landing tolerance of electron beams or without lowering a utilization efficiency of a phosphor screen.

  • Patent number: 7417366
Abstract: The present invention provides an image display device in which it is possible to obtain an image display of high brightness and high contrast by preventing the halation which may be generated in a peripheral portion of a display image. By providing a carbon film which attenuates the reentry of secondary electrons, which are generated when electron beams impinge on an anodes, to a back surface of the anode, even when primary electrons impinge on the anode, the secondary electrons are hardly emitted from the anode. At the same time, a trace amount of emitted secondary electrons are mainly formed of electrons having a small energy. Hence, these emitted secondary electrons are scattered and hardly reenter the anode.

  • Patent number: 7385343
Abstract: Rupture of distance holding members, aback substrate or a front substrate attributed to atmospheric pressure is suppressed in a display device in which, between the back substrate having cathode lines and plate-member control electrodes and the front substrate, a large number of distance holding members, which maintain distance between the substrates, are mounted in an erect manner. At portions where the distance holding members are brought into contact with the back substrate and/or the front substrate, a buffering/fixing material, which is constituted of a buffering material having high resiliency and an adhesive, is interposed for dispersing the atmospheric pressure applied from the back substrate and the front substrate substantially uniformly. Further, the distance holding members are fixed between the back substrate and the front substrate by a heat treatment and a pressurizing step.
