  • Publication number: 20040174067
Abstract: A brake squeal control device is proposed which carries out squeal control by specifying travel state and temperature conditions in which brake noise tends to be produced. The brake squeal control device is adapted to feed detection signals from a sensor group that indicates the travel state of the vehicle from a stepping force sensor or wheel speed sensors, and a sensor group that indicates the temperature state from an engine cooling water temperature sensor, a car compartment temperature sensor, a caliper temperature sensor or an outer air temperature sensor to a control circuit. If conditions corresponding to an “in-the-cold” and “first-in-the-morning” states are detected by computing in the control circuit, a solenoid valve is turned on and off to suppress brake squeals.

  • Publication number: 20040157506
Abstract: In an AC module, if an interconnection relay is provided in an inverter, the inverter increases in size, and disconnection status between the AC module and a system upon occurrence of abnormal condition cannot be easily checked by a user. Accordingly, a plug is connected to an outlet, thereby an output of the inverter is supplied to the system or a load via a coupler. If leakage of direct current, ground fault of a solar cell or the like, a fault or abnormal condition of the inverter, or an abnormal condition of the system is detected, the inverter outputs a signal to separate the plug from the coupler.

  • Publication number: 20040145512
Abstract: One of the objects of the present invention is to reduce the size of a radar device mounted on a vehicle body. To achieve the object, one aspect of the invention provides a radar device, which is mounted on a vehicle body and detects a target present in a moving direction of the vehicle body, with (1) a transmitting antenna for transmitting a mm-Wave that forms an electric field having a width equivalent to the width of the vehicle body at a position away in a moving direction of the vehicle body by a distance corresponding to the most-approached distance defined between the vehicle body and the target and (2) two receiving antennas for receiving the reflected mm-Waves at mutually different positions.

  • Patent number: 6761581
Abstract: An AC interconnection apparatus has an input terminal for a commercial power system, a connection terminal to a solar cell, an output terminal connected to a load, an inverter for converting the output voltage of the solar cell into an AC voltage, and a current detector arranged on the load side of an AC connection point for connecting the AC output from the inverter and the commercial power. When a power value calculated on the basis of a current detection value by the current detector and the voltage of the commercial power system is less than the output power of the inverter, the output of the inverter is suppressed, thereby suppressing reverse power flow to the commercial power system. When the current value detected by the current detector exceeds a predetermined value, power supply to the load is stopped using a breaker.

  • Patent number: 6715847
Abstract: In the rotary pump, a high pressure outer circumference chamber, which is formed around an outer circumference of an outer rotor and communicates with a discharge port, presses radially inward first defined parts among the outer circumference of the outer rotor that are positioned radially outside second defined parts adjacent to teeth gap portions whose volume are largest and smallest among teeth gap portions communicating with an intake port. Teeth top clearance between the outer and inner rotors at the second defined part is reduced due to pressure difference between the discharge pressure applied to the first defined parts and the intake pressure applied to the second defined parts.

  • Patent number: 6710543
Abstract: An EL element including a first electrode, a luminescent layer, an insulation layer, and a second electrode is laminated so that a short circuit between the first electrode and the second electrode at a defect of the insulation layer between the luminescent layer and the second electrode is prevented. A cavity 41 is formed in the layer 4 under an area 51 at which the second insulation layer 5 is missing. The second electrode 6 is separated by the cavity 41 from the first insulation layer 3 located under the luminescent layer 4 to prevent a short circuit.

  • Publication number: 20040035087
Abstract: An article to be packaged and a packaging bag for covering the article are supplied to heat sealing mechanisms which arrive at uniform time intervals, in synchronism with cycle timing of the respective-heat sealing mechanisms. A vertically openable beak-shaped hopper and a sliding plate perform reciprocal movement at a uniform time interval along guides on both sides, and arrive at circulating sealing platforms. The hopper is inserted into an opening of the packaging bag hanging down from above, and conveys the packaging bag to the sealing platform whilst extending the same. In response to a relevant signal, a forward-and-reverse motor coupled to a ball screw causes the article to advance following the hopper by an insertion rod moving along the guides.

  • Publication number: 20040027112
Abstract: A power converter is installed for each solar cell, and electric power having a low voltage and a relatively large electric current is input to the power converter, thereby reducing as much as possible the wiring work which greatly raises the cost of an electric power generator. For this purpose, a power converter which has a high operating efficiency and by which a low-cost electric power generator can be constructed when an unstable power source such as a solar cell is used is desired. As this power converter, a DC/DC converter is provided which supplies DC power supplied from the solar cell to a transformer by switching the DC power, thereby boosting the output voltage from the solar cell by a few tens of times to a few hundred times. The number of turns of the primary winding of the transformer is set to 2 or 3.

  • Patent number: 6670749
Abstract: An EL device is constructed of an insulating substrate, and a first electrode, a first insulating layer, a luminescent layer, a second insulating layer and a second electrode, which are laminated on the insulating substrate in this order. The insulating layer is made by a method other than ALE, for example, sputtering or vapor deposition. The second insulating layer includes alternating layers of Al2O3 and TiO2, which are formed by ALE. The second insulating layer covers the luminescent layer and an end surface of the first insulating layer. Since the first insulating layer is not formed by ALE, the device can be manufactured with high productivity, and there is no less of performance compared to a device having two ALE insulation layers.

  • Publication number: 20030184973
Abstract: A housing for enclosing an electronic control unit is constructed of a resinous cover and a metallic case having heat conductivity higher than that of the resinous cover. An air intake module is mounted on an engine inside an engine compartment. The air intake module forms an air passage through which air flows from an air inlet toward the engine. The electronic control unit is mounted on the air intake module such that the metallic case is exposed to the air passage in the air intake module and the resinous cover is exposed to the outside of the air intake module, that is, exposed in the engine compartment.

  • Publication number: 20030163241
Abstract: An electronic throttle control system has a main computer and a sub-computer. The main computer calculates a target throttle angle, and the sub-computer controls a throttle actuator. In the computers, a throttle angle monitor value is set based on an accelerator angle to determine a normal range, and monitor an electronic throttle control operation by determining whether an actual throttle angle is within the normal range. The data characteristic of the monitor value is defined in a logic with which the throttle angle is controlled in the throttle closing direction upon occurrence of a memory retention abnormality.

  • Patent number: 6593520
Abstract: When a ground fault occurs in some solar battery string, this solar battery string may be disconnected and operation of a solar power generation system may be continued. If the open-circuit voltage of the solar battery string is high, a safety problem arises. If the open-circuit voltage is decreased, the conversion efficiency decreases. Therefore, an intermediate switch is provided midway along the solar battery string. When a ground fault occurs, this solar battery string where the ground fault has occurred is divided into substrings.
