  • Publication number: 20060121985
Abstract: Reference coordinates in a coordinate system and designated coordinates in the coordinate system based on coordinate information outputted by a pointing device are set. A distance and direction between the reference coordinates and the designated coordinates are calculated. When the distance has a value smaller than a predetermined threshold value, the distance is converted into a game parameter using a first conversion function is determined. On the other hand, when the distance has a value greater than the predetermined threshold value, the distance is converted into a game parameter using a second conversion function for converting the distance into a value greater than a value into which the distance is converted using the first conversion function. The game is processed using the direction and the game parameter.

  • Publication number: 20060111182
Abstract: Reference coordinates in a coordinate system and designated coordinates based on coordinate information outputted by a pointing device are provided, and a distance between the reference coordinates and the designated coordinates is calculated. When a first mode is selected, a calculated distance is converted into a predetermined parameter using a first conversion function. On the other hand, when a second mode is selected, a calculated distance is converted into a parameter using a second conversion function. According to whether the first mode is selected or the second mode is selected, a game is processed based on the aforementioned parameter.

  • Publication number: 20050279209
Abstract: Air is introduced from an intake chamber into a plurality of hollow fiber membranes in a casing. The casing is connected to a vacuum pump via a three-way valve and water vapor in air is evacuated through the membranes. Dehumidified or dried air is discharged from a discharge chamber at the ends of the membranes. The vacuum pump is connected to a detector/selector. If the vacuum pump is out of order, it is detected by the detector/selector and another dehumidifier including a depressurizing device is actuated.

  • Patent number: 6929324
Abstract: In a vehicle seat, a central support member typically consisting of wire mesh or grid and supports most of the load of the vehicle occupant via spring members, and undergoes a relatively large displacement when the occupant is seated in the seat. Thus, by detecting the displacements of various parts of the central support member, preferably peripheral parts thereof, the magnitude of the total load and distribution of the load can be evaluated both reliably and accurately. Additionally, displacement sensors for measuring such large displacements are relatively inexpensive and easy to handle. Also, such sensors would not interfere with the existing seat designs, and would not be adversely affected by the equipment of the seat such as seat heaters.

  • Publication number: 20040256358
Abstract: In the resist stripping method of the present invention, a wiring substrate having a remaining resist layer is brought into contact with a resist stripping composition in an atmosphere containing oxygen in a proportion of 2% by volume or less. Preferably, the resist is removed after pretreating the remaining resist layer with hydrogen peroxide. A resist stripping composition comprising an amine compound, a solvent, a strong alkali, and water is preferably used in the resist stripping method of the present invention.

  • Publication number: 20040139315
Abstract: An information entity transmits encrypted private data to a computer of a service provider, which makes a request to use private data, by using a client tool. Additionally, the information entity creates by using the client tool a decryption key for decrypting the private data, and a private data use license which includes information stipulating a use condition of the private data, such as a use purpose, the number of use times, an expiry date, the number of times that a move can be made, and the like, and transmits the decryption key and the license to the computer of the service provider by using a DRM authentication technology. The service provider can use the private data only if its use purpose matches the use condition described in the private data use license created by the information entity.

  • Publication number: 20040055806
Abstract: In a vehicle occupant restraint system for restraining a lower part of a vehicle occupant, an arrangement for moving a restraining member from a retracted position to a deployed position upon detection and/or prediction of a vehicle crash by a crash sensor is adapted in such a manner that the restraining member cannot be made to move from the deployed position to the retracted position by an external force applied to the restraining member but can be made to move from the retracted position to the deployed position and from the deployed position back to the retracted position by a force transmitted from a power actuator to the restraining member via a power transmitting member. Thus, while the restraining member is capable of withstanding the load of restraining the vehicle occupant, even when the restraining member is deployed, it can be brought back to the retracted position so that the restraining system can be used repeatedly.

  • Patent number: 6680550
Abstract: In a hermetic motor-driven compressor, a first gas passage is formed by a space between a linear section in a motor stator and a hermetic container, and a second gas passage in parallel with the first gas passage is formed by through holes in the motor stator. The through holes constituting the second gas passage are disposed outside of a circle inscribed in the linear section in the stator. The through hole is shaped like a bow, and an arch shape of the outer periphery thereof has a curvature larger than that of the outer circumference of the stator.
