  • Patent number: 6921673
Abstract: Provided is a nitride semiconductor device with high reliability and high flexibility in design and manufacture of the device. The nitride semiconductor device comprises a seed crystal portion (11) formed on a sapphire substrate (10) and having a mask (12) on one side surface thereof, and a GaN layer (15) grown on the sapphire substrate (10) and the seed crystal portion (11) through epitaxial lateral overgrowth. The GaN layer (15) is grown only from an exposed side surface of the seed crystal portion (11) which is not covered with the mask (12), so the lateral growth of the GaN layer (15) is asymmetrically carried out. Thereby, a meeting portion (32) is formed in the vicinity of a boundary between the seed crystal portion (11) and the mask (12) in a thickness direction of the GaN layer (15).

  • Publication number: 20050134210
Abstract: In a vehicle air conditioner with an electrical actuator system, a transmission mechanism transmits a rotation force of an electrical motor to an air mixing door when first and second pulse signals are generated from first and second brushes in a door operation region of a pattern plate. In contrast, the transmission mechanism stops the transmission of the rotation force to the air mixing door, when the first and second pulse signals are generated in the first and second brushes in an initialization region. Therefore, in the initialization region, the detection position of the air mixing door is the same regardless of a rotation direction of the electrical motor. As a result, even when the initialization region is arranged at a middle position in the door operation region, the rotation position of the air mixing door can be accurately detected.

  • Publication number: 20050134129
Abstract: In a motor housing, an upper case and lower case are engaged with each other in the upward and downward direction at the respective engaging portions, and a motor etc. is accommodated in the housing. At a lower end portion of the outer surface of the upper case, an umbrella-shaped portion is protruded laterally, and a gap is provided between the umbrella-shaped portion and the side of the lower case. At a lower end portion of the umbrella-shaped portion, a dripping end portion, from which water drips down, is formed at a lower position than that of the lower face of the lower case. Thereby, water, which has dripped down on the outer surface of the upper case to the dripping end portion, cannot move to the engaging end portion side formed on the side of the lower case. Accordingly, the intrusion of water can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20050012480
Abstract: The detection of a pulse signal in an initialization pattern is ensured regardless of the position where a DC motor is stopped. A CPU detects the pulse signal generated by the pulse generator and an angle of rotation of a rotating shaft, and controls an angle of rotation of a rotating shaft based on the detected angle of rotation. The pulse generator generates the pulse signal in the initialization pattern, which indicates the position of origin of the angle of rotation, in accordance with the rotation of the DC motor. If a determination means determines that it is impossible to detect the pulse signal in the initialization pattern when the DC motor is rotated in a first direction, the CPU rotates the DC motor in a second direction.
