  • Publication number: 20190361647
Abstract: There is provided a control method for an image processing apparatus with which appropriate printing on a print medium to be processed after printing is accomplished. An image processing apparatus used to render an image that is represented by print object information and is to be printed on the print medium includes a memory unit and a control unit. The memory unit stores process specifying information indicating the specifics of a process to be performed on the print medium. The control unit divides a printable area where print object information can be printed into a plurality of attribute areas based on the process specifying information. The control unit determines one of the plurality of attribute areas as a print attribute area where the print object information is to be printed, and controls the rendering of the print object information in a manner suited to the determined print attribute area.

  • Patent number: 8731411
Abstract: A polarization fluctuation compensation device, when WDM light received by, for example, an optical reception device includes a polarization scrambled optical signal and a non-polarization scrambled optical signal, collects information related to whether optical signals having respective wavelengths are polarization scrambled, obtains a target value of control parameters which are different from each other, according to the speed of polarization fluctuations in the non-polarization scrambled optical signal based on the collected information, and performs reception processing of the non-polarization scrambled optical signal by using a control parameter set as the target value. As a result, an influence of fast polarization fluctuations generated resulting from an interaction between optical signals having respective wavelengths can be reliably compensated for, thereby enabling to realize excellent reception characteristics.

  • Patent number: 8693887
Abstract: An optical transmitter of the invention phase modulates an output light from a light source according to data using a phase modulator, and then supplies it to an intensity modulator. The intensity modulator performs pulse carving of the output light from the phase modulator in accordance with a clock signal in which a duty cycle is changed to a value different from 50% by a waveform transformation circuit, with an operating range being a slope from a trough to a crest in the photoelectric response characteristics. As a result, it is possible to realize, at the same time, duty cycle and chirp characteristics that enable excellent transmission characteristics to be obtained.

  • Patent number: 8517591
Abstract: In a method of forming a thin light guide plate which includes a compression step in an injection molding step, an optical pattern is liable to be adhered to a mold. Further, in removing the light guide plate from the mold using an ejector pin, a stress is concentrated on a local area of the light guide plate thus generating warping, deformation or irregularities in size of the light guide plate. To overcome such drawbacks, a liquid crystal display device is configured such that an optical pattern portion is compressed, and the light guide plate is removed by making use of a peripheral portion of a mold thus preventing the generation of stress in a local area of the light guide plate due to an ejector pin.

  • Patent number: 8502935
Abstract: In a backlight which arranges light emitting diodes on a side surface of a light guide plate, even when the light guide plate is made thin by further reducing a thickness of the light guide plate and the light emitting diodes having a thickness larger than the thickness of the light guide plate are used, it is possible to manufacture the light guide plate with high accuracy in a short time. In a liquid crystal display device having a backlight which radiates light to a liquid crystal panel, LEDs are mounted on the light guide plate formed on the backlight as a light emitting element, a light radiation portion of the light guide plate is formed by molding by applying pressure and heat to a sheet-shaped resin, and a light incident portion of the light guide plate is formed by injection molding.

  • Patent number: 8270843
Abstract: An optical transmission system capable of efficiently reducing waveform distortion of an optical signal. A transmitting-side distortion compensation coefficient storage of a transmitting station stores transmitting-side distortion compensation coefficients for compensating for waveform distortion of an optical signal to be transmitted to a receiving station. A transmit signal processor performs distortion compensation on the optical signal on the basis of a suitable transmitting-side distortion compensation coefficient stored in the transmitting-side distortion compensation coefficient storage. A transmitter transmits the distortion-compensated signal to a transmission path. A receiver of the receiving station receives the optical signal from the transmission path. A receiving-side distortion compensation coefficient storage stores receiving-side distortion compensation coefficients for compensating for waveform distortion of the optical signal received by the receiver.
