  • Publication number: 20180039954
Abstract: Variety of approaches to provide a meeting time picker with automated suggestions are described. A calendar application initiates operations to provide a meeting time picker upon detecting an intent of a meeting organizer to organize a meeting. The intent lists a meeting invitee. Availability information associated with the meeting invitee is retrieved from a calendar provider. A first layer, a second layer, and third layer of timeslots are generated for a presentation. The first layer includes a meeting organizer schedule. The second layer includes an aggregate schedule of the meeting invitee. The third layer includes a suggested schedule of a meeting time. The first layer, the second layer, and the third layer are presented in a scheduling grid to the meeting organizer.

  • Publication number: 20170329477
Abstract: A glanceable, interactive user interface for displaying prioritized relevant information is provided. User interaction efficiency is improved by prioritizing and providing relevant information to a user arranged in an abbreviated format for glanceable viewing. The user is enabled to glance at the display and quickly ascertain such information as: a current time, day, and date; upcoming events and meetings as they relate to the current time; incoming communications; and weather associated with a particular location. Additional details associated with the one or more prioritized information items can be displayed. When a user interacts with a displayed information item, the user interface is updated to display additional details. Through minimal user interaction, the user is enabled to receive on-demand progressive disclosure of additional details of selected information items.

  • Patent number: 9792015
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for providing a system for visualizing items and conversations in a communication application. Conversations are presented as a list of items in the communication application. A quantity of presented items is limited based on a size of a client device employed for viewing the items. Visualizations are applied to the presented items to attempt to maximize a number of items that are presented while providing information about the items to enable a user to preview content and take actions on the items. The visualizations include different templates applied to each item based on a type of item and content associated with the item, and the templates may be are dynamically updated based on user interactions with the items. The templates for items are determined by applying a set of rules and factors to each item to determine a most appropriate visualization for each item.

  • Publication number: 20170168654
Abstract: Organization of communications on a timeline is provided. A communication application initiates operations to organize the communication on the timeline by analyzing communications to identify a group of the communications associated with a current date. The group of the communications share common attributes such as a topic, a subject, a participant or a stakeholder. A today visualization is created from the group of the communications. Furthermore, the today visualization is presented before other communications on the timeline.

  • Publication number: 20170116553
Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein facilitate the use of the primary work queue within an information management application as a centralized access point for creating and viewing multiple types of new draft items such as a note, to-do, or message item. An information management application can receive a new item request through its user interface and initiate a new draft item in response to the new item request. A view of new draft item can then be surfaced in a primary work queue of the information management application. The item type of the new draft item may be different than other item types in the primary work queue.

  • Publication number: 20170093783
Abstract: Prioritized and categorized presentation of incoming communications is provided based on characteristics of the communications such as sender, recipients, subject, body content, recipient's past interactions, and similar ones. User or administrator defined explicit rules and configurations may be taken into consideration along with analysis results of incoming communication attributes and user history in determining a category and a priority level for the incoming communication. The incoming communication may then be presented according to the determined category and priority level along with tools for the recipient to modify automatic determinations and otherwise interact with the communication.

  • Publication number: 20160182430
Abstract: Optimization of a view of messages based on an importance classification is provided. An application such as a communication application displays summaries of messages within a summary pane of a messaging user interface (UI). The messages include emails. An action is detected that activates an importance filter control, where the importance filter control includes operations to identify an important subset of the summaries associated with the messages classified as an important message. The messages are processed to identify the important subset. The important subset are displayed while hiding a remaining subset of the summaries on the summary pane.

  • Publication number: 20160182426
Abstract: Restructuring a view of messages based on configurable persistence is provided. An application such as a communication application displays summaries of messages within a summary pane of a messaging user interface (UI). The messages include emails. An action is detected to reorder one of the summaries on a top location of a date section of the summary pane. Reorder options are displayed to identify a reorder time of the summary. A selection of one of the reorder options is detected as the reorder time. The summary is relocated to the top location of the date section of the summary pane to display the first summary at the top location of the date section during the reorder time.
