Patent number: 7697106Abstract: A liquid crystal display device of the present invention has a structure in which vertically aligned liquid crystal is sealed between a TFT substrate and a CF substrate. Pixel electrodes in which slits are provided are formed on the TFT substrate, while cell gap holding spacers and domain defining projections are formed on the CF substrate. For example, positive type photoresist is coated on a common electrode. Then, first exposure is executed by using a mask for light-shielding spacer forming regions and projection forming regions, and then second exposure is executed by using a mask for light-shielding the spacer forming regions. Then, the photoresist is developed. Accordingly, the spacers and the projections, each having a different height, can be formed simultaneously.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2001Date of Patent: April 13, 2010Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Manabu Sawasaki, Takashi Takagi, Yoji Taniguchi, Hiroyasu Inoue, Susumu Nakano, Tomonori Tanose, Naonobu Matsui, Kazuyuki Hosokawa, Kazuhiko Sumi, Masahiro Ikeda, Naoshige Itami

Publication number: 20090200098Abstract: In an electric power steering device, if the temperature of a specific site that increases due to the driving of a steering assist motor exceeds a threshold, the motor current is controlled to be equal to or below a current restriction value. The temperature Toff of the specific site detected when an engine is stopped, and the current restriction value Ioff provided when the engine is stopped are stored into a storage. A temperature difference Ta between the temperature detected when a starter switch is turned on and the temperature Toff is computed. If the temperature of the specific site when the starter switch is turned on is above the threshold, the current restriction value is set to be equal to or above the current restriction value Ioff stored in the storage, according to the temperature difference Ta, over a time following the turning-on of the starter switch.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 3, 2009Publication date: August 13, 2009Applicant: JTEKT CorporationInventors: Hiroyasu INOUE, Tetsuya Ozaki

Patent number: 7508468Abstract: A light blocking mask covering half of a picture element is formed on a first substrate. Thereafter, the first substrate and a second substrate are placed to face each other, and liquid crystals with negative dielectric anisotropy are sealed between these substrates, whereby a liquid crystal panel is formed. A polymer constituent which is polymerized by light is added in advance to the liquid crystals. Next, ultraviolet is irradiated from the side of the first substrate, and, after removing the light blocking mask, ultraviolet is once again irradiated. Thus, in picture element, a region where binding force with respect to liquid crystal molecules is large (a region where a threshold voltage in transmittance-voltage characteristics is high) and a region where binding force with respect to liquid crystal molecules is small (a region where a threshold voltage in transmittance-voltage characteristics is low) are formed.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2006Date of Patent: March 24, 2009Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shingo Kataoka, Hiroyasu Inoue
