  • Publication number: 20070298534
Abstract: In the present invention, an etching hole 21 is formed in a polysilicon film 14 as a cavity-wall member. Through the etching hole 21, hydrofluoric acid is injected, so as to dissolve a silicon oxide film 13, thereby forming a cavity 22. In the cavity 22, a detecting unit 12 of a sensor is in an exposed condition. Next, by sputtering, an Al film 16 is deposited in the etching hole 21 and on an upper face of a substrate. Thereafter, a portion of the Al film 16 positioned on the polysilicon film 14 is removed by etching back, thereby leaving only a metal closure 16a of Al which closes the etching hole. The sputtering step is performed under a pressure of 5 Pa or less, so that the pressure in the cavity can be held to be low.

  • Publication number: 20070229658
Abstract: In a learning process, first, images having different resolutions are obtained from a target region of the subject (S101). Further, the subject characteristic of the target region is obtained (S102). Then, the resolution conversion rules are learned from the images having different resolutions, and those are recorded to a storage device along with the subject characteristics (S103). When converting the resolutions, the resolution conversion rules learned for the corresponding subject characteristics are applied to each region of the original image so as to convert the resolutions of the original image.

  • Publication number: 20070223887
Abstract: A recording process records low-resolution video data while obtaining a high-resolution image in a window region being a portion of an entire image. Then, the process learns, as a resolution conversion rule, a resolution increasing parameter by using the high-resolution image. In a resolution increasing process, the resolution of the recorded low-resolution video data is increased by using the resolution increasing parameter learned in the recording process.

  • Publication number: 20070217682
Abstract: An image feature analyzing section performs an image feature analysis with respect to an input image to output an image feature vector. A parameter output section stores a plurality of image feature vectors and a plurality of parameters corresponding to the respective image feature vectors and outputs an original parameter value corresponding to an image feature vector. A parameter operation setting section determines contents of an operation of an illumination equation parameter, depending on a prescribed image conversion. A parameter operating section operates the original parameter value in accordance with a prescription of the parameter operation setting section, to obtain a new parameter value. An image generating section generates an output image based on the new parameter value.

  • Patent number: 7180544
Abstract: The consumed power of a MOS type sensor including a floating diffusion (FD) amplifier in each pixel is reduced. For this purpose, drain regions (regions for supplying a pulse voltage to FD portions through reset transistors) of unit pixels are connected to different drain lines row by row, so as to selectively supply a power pulse to each row. The power pulse is set to a HIGH level potential at least during a period when signal charge stored in the FD portion is reset and a period when the signal charge stored in the FD portion is detected.

  • Publication number: 20070019000
Abstract: The present invention provides a display control method and a display control device capable of detecting a position and an orientation of an apparatus by a simple structure and controlling a display of a displayed image based on the detected position and orientation of the apparatus with ease. Two cameras are mounted on the apparatus. A user holds the apparatus in the hand, captures, by a first camera, a first image including the face of the user, and captures, by a second camera, a second image including a scene opposite to the user. A display control unit extracts features of the face from the first image and extracts scene feature points from the second image. Then, the display control unit compares the extracted results with reference graphics and the like, and calculates a user-to-apparatus distance ro and angles ?o, ?o which indicate a direction to the apparatus, and controls the display of the displayed image based on the calculated distance ro and angles ?o, ?o.

  • Patent number: 7148926
Abstract: A color filter arrangement (11) is used, in which a plurality of filter units are each made of 2×2 arrangements of red (R), green (G), green (G) and blue (B) color elements. First, signal charges are added up for all pixels belonging to each of a plurality of pixel blocks made of quadratic arrangements of 3×3 of pixels, which are larger than the filter units (2×2 arrangement). Then, compressed color information for each of the pixel blocks is obtained from a result of the addition for each pixel block, taking the 2×2 arrangements of pixel blocks as large filter units.

  • Patent number: 7050099
Abstract: Gray level data of boundary pixels that are adjacent to a block boundary in a photoelectric conversion section is stored. Then, a cumulative histogram regarding the number of pixels for different gray levels is produced based on the stored gray level data separately for each block, and a data table representing the correspondence between each gray level before correction and that after correction for the block to be corrected is produced so as to reduce the difference between the cumulative histograms. The data table is stored in a correction data RAM. By using the data table, the outputs of the block to be corrected are non-linearly corrected for different gray levels.

  • Patent number: 6985182
Abstract: In a solid-state imaging device, a plurality of vertical charge transfer paths is arranged at a horizontal pitch A within a photoelectric conversion region, and at a pitch B that is smaller than the pitch A in a portion where the signals are input into the horizontal charger transfer path. A read-out amplifier and a horizontal charge transfer path for receiving signals from vertical charge transfer paths are provided for each photoelectric conversion block into which the photoelectric conversion region has been partitioned. The read-out amplifiers have the same shape and their positional relation is one of parallel displacement in regions that are obtained by changing the pitch of the vertical charge transfer portions. Thus, a solid-state imaging device is achieved that is not so easily influenced by mask misalignments or skewed ion implantation angles, and in which signal read-out at high speeds is possible.

  • Patent number: 6967684
Abstract: A method and apparatus for driving a solid state image pickup device. The method and apparatus include setting a first signal charging period and a second signal charging period for each one of a plurality of unit pixels. The second signal charging period is shorter than the first signal charging period. A first signal charge is produced during the first signal charging period and a second signal charge is produced during the second signal charging period. It is judged whether the first signal charge is saturated or not saturated. Then based on this judgment an input light amount is determined. The input light amount is determined using only the second signal charge when the first signal charge is saturated. The input light amount is determined using only the first signal charge when the first signal charge is not saturated.
