  • Patent number: 5479939
Abstract: Movement of a person in bed is detected without contacting the body, and time measurement is reset and started newly by a timer every time a detected movement exceeds a predetermined set value. When the measurement time of the timer exceeds a set time predetermined, it is judged that the body has fallen asleep on the bed. Meanwhile, absence or presence in bed and rough body movement are judged by detecting the fine body movement propagated by the functioning of heart and breathing of the body.

  • Patent number: 5404128
Abstract: A safety control apparatus positively discriminates between an object and a person through the detection of subtle physical movement corresponding to the heart activity and the breathing unique to the life activity of the human body from a output signal of a vibration sensor disposed on a seat so as to accurately decide whether or not a person is present. The maintenance of the safe operation of the moving vehicle can be realized. The starting of the moving vehicle is inhibited if the reserved seat is determined to be unoccupied in accordance with the decision result. In the case where the person is present, the moving of the vehicle is not started before the engagement of the seat belt has been detected.

  • Patent number: 5390446
Abstract: A grinding method and a grinding machine of reduced grinding resistance, in which letting f [mm] denote the diamond particle size of a diamond grindstone, V [m/min] denote the peripheral speed of the diamond grindstone, and f [m/min] denote the feed speed of a workpiece made of Aluminum nitride ceramic, the peripheral speed of the diamond grindstone and the feed speed of the workpiece are set so as to satisfy V.gtoreq.35 .phi.+2000 and V/f.gtoreq.70 .phi.+800.

  • Patent number: 4659587
Abstract: In a selective electroless plating process suitable for formation and correction of a minute pattern by plating film, irradiation of the surface of a workpiece with a laser beam serves to selectively activate the surface of the workpiece to allow an electroless plating film to deposited on only the activated portions. The portion of the workpiece where plating is effected is irradiated with a radiation energy beam to form a damaged portion, which is contact with a plating bath during and/or after the irradiation to selectively from a plating film on the damaged portion. The portion of a workpiece where a pole as the connector part of a multilayer wiring board is to be formed is irradiated with a laser beam and allowed to have a pole selectively formed only thereon.
