  • Publication number: 20010016797
Abstract: In a danger deciding means for a vehicle, information which changes according to the road structure around a vehicle concerned is acquired. When a plurality of images obtained by picking up different monitoring regions are received, on the basis of the acquired information, the image of the region which must be monitored is selected from the plurality of images. The selected image is processed to detect the approaching degree of an approaching object. On basis of the approaching degree, danger of contact or collision with the approaching object is decided.

  • Publication number: 20010012982
Abstract: An image pick-up means mounted in the motor vehicle picks up a side direction of a driver's own vehicle. An approaching object detecting means detects an approaching degree of an approaching object which approaches his own vehicle from a side direction road crossing his own vehicle on the basis of two images picked up at two timings apart by a prescribed interval by the image pick-up means. A danger decision means decides a danger on the basis of the approaching degree. In such a configuration, a side-monitoring apparatus for a motor vehicle can accurately know the danger of collision with the object approaching from the side direction road.

  • Publication number: 20010010540
Abstract: A picked-up image of an environment of the vehicle concerned is displayed. The position of an object which approaches the vehicle concerned is acquired on the basis of two picked-up images taken at times apart by a prescribed time interval. An immobile point on the approaching object is set. A display frame image is created with reference to the immobile point. The display frame image is superposed on the picked-up image. In such a configuration, since the approaching object is encircled by a display frame image, the approaching object can be easily visually recognized.

  • Patent number: 6149727
Abstract: A spin holder has a disk-like supporting portion, and a circular wall portion for supporting the back side of a substrate is formed inside the periphery of the top surface of the disk-like supporting portion. A circular groove is formed near the periphery of the top surface of the disk-like supporting portion, the circular groove surrounding the outside of the circular wall portion. An O ring is fitted into the circular groove. The top surface of the circular wall portion on the spin holder supports the back side of the substrate and the O ring comes in close contact with the back side of the substrate. Even if a vacuum leakage occurs between the circular wall portion and the back side of the substrate due to suction force created by a vacuum suction source, the O ring keeps the hermetic state in the space between the circular wall portion and the O ring. This prevents mist around the spin holder from being drawn toward the suction surface between the O ring and the substrate.

  • Patent number: 5907724
Abstract: In a lens barrel of a zoom lens, a luminous flux is divided or its path is switched so that the same luminous flux is directed to both a taking optical system and a finer optical system. Focusing and camera shake compensation are performed before division of the luminous flux or switching of its path so that images observed through a finder are already in focus and compensated for camera shakes. The lens barrel has multiple movable segments to allow the taking optical system and the finder optical system to be moved out simultaneously. To achieve zooming, a holding member for holding both a focusing lens unit and other lens units is moved so that all these lens units are moved simultaneously. Adjustment of the focusing lens unit, necessitated as a result of zooming, is achieved by moving a part of the focusing lens unit within the holding member.

  • Patent number: 5892989
Abstract: A skirt located on a worm is inserted in a C-shaped hole of a photo-interrupter blade wheel, and a motor shaft passes thought the center of each of said members. The rotation of the worm is transmitted to photo-interrupter blades with a predescribed angle of play due to the relative dimensions of a notch formed on the skirt and the C-shaped hole.

  • Patent number: 5835203
Abstract: In a vehicle laser radar system capable of performing both distance measurements and information communication, only one laser diode is required. A light beam output by a first light emitting section (10) is split and applied through an optical cable to a second light emitting section (14), so that the light beam thus split is emitted from the second light emitting section. A control unit places the laser diode in an operating state for a predetermined period of time, and, when the laser diode is in an operating state, chooses between distance measuring data or communicating data alternately, and causes the laser diode to emit a light pulse according to the data thus chosen.

  • Patent number: 5779016
Abstract: A sliding coupling mounted between a pair of separately rotational members, including a pair of coiled springs, which realizes no rotational delay at time of reversing a rotational direction of one of the rotational members. Each coiled spring has a projecting part extending radially outwardly from one end thereof. The pair of coiled springs are fictionally mounted on an outer surface of one of the rotational members with the circular parts and the projecting parts of the coiled springs being overlapped with each other so that the winding directions of the coiled springs are opposite to each other. The other rotational member has an engaging groove with which the projecting parts of the coiled springs are engaged without a space between each projecting part and a surface forming the engaging groove of the rotational member in each rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 5446892
Abstract: In a processing method for a distributed processing system have a plurality of processors connected through a network for transferring programs among the processors, each processor introduces a program which circulates in the network, assesses the state of the processor for storing the program in that processor, and judges on the basis of the assessment information whether the introduced program is to be executed in that processor.

  • Patent number: 5377322
Abstract: Several processors and several communication control units are connected to a transmission medium. Each communication control unit has one or more terminal devices connected to it, and so any terminal device can be coupled to any processor. Each processor includes a central processing unit, a memory, and a control manager. The memory stores first information regarding processing being done with a terminal device coupled to the processor and second information regarding the communication control units connected to each of the processors and regarding the terminal devices being serviced by the processor. The control manager manages the communication control units based on the stored information. Information about the connections between the processors and the communication control units is broadcast to all processors. If any processor is faulty, another processor can take over the processing being done by the faulty processor.

  • Patent number: 5320063
Abstract: Disclosure is a luminous pointer made of a light emission element of the inorganic substance dispersion type, high in accuracy of reading, and low in cost. The light emission element of the inorganic substance dispersion type is shaped as a rod, and includes a linear metal core, an electrically-insulating reflective layer made of an enamel and disposed on the core, a fluorescent light emission layer which is made of an enamel and a fluorescent substance dispersed therein and is disposed on the reflective layer, an electroconductive film disposed on the light emission layer and capable of being electrically connected to the core, and an outer electrically-insulating layer disposed on the film. The film has at least one slit which has a width smaller than the diameter of the luminous pointer and extends as a luminously visible portion in the longitudinal direction of the film. An intermediate electrically-insulating layer made of an enamel may be provided between the light emission layer and the film.

  • Patent number: 4550938
Abstract: A fishing line comprising a core line and a tubular outer line formed of synthetic fibers and sheathing the core line, the core line being withdrawable from the outer line. A conventional fishing line can be firmly connected to a leader with the outer line by withdrawing the core line from the outer line, then inserting one end of the fishing line and one of the leader into opposite ends of the outer line and tying each of the laps of the outer line over the fishing line and the leader into a single knot. The tied portions are as high as at least 90% in tensile strength ratio.

  • Patent number: 4413484
Abstract: A basket goal net characterized in that the net is formed from a plurality of netting cords of synthetic fiber, each of the netting cords comprising at least one chain yarn knitted on a Raschel machine and at least one inlay yarn, each two adjacent netting cords being joined together at a plurality of locations by Raschel knitting. The net has none of the sheet bends or like knots included in conventional goal nets and is therefore highly resistant to abrasion. Since the legs of the junctions of the netting cords will not be fully stretched, the net retains sufficient restoring proporties at all times, permitting the ball to pass therethrough at a reduced speed so that the passage of the ball can be recognized manifestly. When the cords are warp-knitted into an ingenious structure, the net has high anti-whipping properties. When further heat-treated, the net can be given perfect abrasion resistance, restoring properties and anti-whipping properties.
