  • Patent number: 8971578
Abstract: There is provided a driving support apparatus. A recognition controller determines whether an object detected by processing a captured image by an object detection unit is a smoke-like object or not in a smoke-like object determination unit. When the detected object is determined to be the smoke-like object, the recognition controller checks a range distribution in a region of the smoke-like object, adds the result as attribute information of “density”, and transmits the resultant to a controller. The controller decides in a support operation level decision unit whether a pre-crash brake control can be executed or not and an intensity of an operation based on the attribute information of the smoke-like object. Thus, even if the smoke-like object is detected, an appropriate driving support process according to the condition can be executed.

  • Patent number: 8952616
Abstract: There is provided an apparatus for controlling a head lamp for a vehicle. A control condition determining unit determines whether a condition for controlling a head lamp is established or not based upon whether a vehicle ahead is present or not, and a distance between the vehicle ahead and the vehicle. When the control condition is determined to be established, an illumination range control unit compares a reference pattern stored and held in a reference pattern holding unit and an illumination pattern of the head lamp recognized by an illumination pattern recognition unit, and controls the illumination range of the head lamp via an actuator in order that both patterns agree with each other.

  • Patent number: 8938354
Abstract: There is provided a driving support apparatus for a vehicle. A driving control unit determines whether or not a three-dimensional object ahead is a three-dimensional object having high reliability as a control object for an automatic brake control based on a condition set beforehand, when possibility of collision between the vehicle and the three-dimensional object ahead is determined to be high. When the reliability of the three-dimensional object ahead as the control object is determined to be low and the amount of increase in the accelerator opening degree is equal to or larger than a set value, the driving control unit cancels the execution of the automatic brake control.
