  • Patent number: 5663622
Abstract: A positioning control system for positioning a movement member with respect to a predetermined position on the basis of feedback control of a driving system for the movement member, includes an extraordinary movement detecting device for detecting extraordinary movement of the movement member, and an emergency stoppage servo device for applying a signal for stopping the driving system in response to output of a detection signal from the extraordinary movement detecting device.

  • Patent number: 5553207
Abstract: In a region extraction to be achieved by a concatenated region expansion processing, to improve reliability of extraction results and to reduce loads imposed on the operator, when a region other than an objective region is extracted as a result of the region extraction, a point belonging to the region other than the objective region is specified in a three-dimensional display image to execute deletion of the overflow region.

  • Patent number: 5319551
Abstract: In order to ensure that region extraction for extracting a specified internal organ can be effected with high reliability, a region expansion method is applied by using a combination of an expansion condition taking the local density change into consideration and an expansion condition taking the global density change into consideration.

  • Patent number: 4923692
Abstract: A process for producing pitch-type carbon fibers, which comprises melt-spinning pitch material in a gaseous atmosphere to form pitch fibers, gathering the pitch fibers in the presence of an oiling agent into a tow, followed by infusible treatment, carbonization treatment and, if necessary, graphitization treatment, of the tow of pitch fibers, characterized in that the tow of pitch fibers is brought in contact with a washing liquid to wash the surface of the pitch fibers prior to the infusible treatment.
