  • Patent number: 6019729
Abstract: A sensor mechanism-equipped catheter is easy to produce, suitable for a diameter reduction, and achieves a high sensing precision. In a catheter, a sensor assembly has a pressure-receiving piston, a pressure-transmitting silicon gel or oil and a pressure sensor chip, and is fitted to a distal end of a catheter tube. The sensor assembly detects a pressure change. The sensor assembly further has an outer tube that carries the piston at a distal end side thereof, and an inner tube carrying the sensor chip an end side thereof. A space formed in the outer tube, between the piston and the sensor chip, is filled with the silicone gel or oil. A pressure barrier wall is provided for blocking flow of the silicone gel toward the catheter tube. The sensor chip is fixed in the sensor assembly by a joining member which divides an interior space of the sensor assembly into a distal end-side region and a base end-side region. The joining member may also serve as the pressure barrier wall.

  • Patent number: 6019728
Abstract: A catheter includes a longitudinally extending catheter tube to be inserted into a body. A plurality of sensing portions are arranged in the catheter tube for detecting at least two types of pressures acting on the catheter when inserted into the body. Each sensing portion is arranged along the longitudinal direction of the catheter tube. A silicone gel transmits the two types of pressures acting in the body to each sensing portion. The two types of pressures act on each sensing portion in a radial direction of the catheter tube by way of the silicone gel.

  • Patent number: 6009752
Abstract: A yaw rate detector and method of detecting yaw rate. The detector includes a sensor surrounded by a uniformly distributed gel-like material. The gel-like material is retained in a certain shape by a pair of parallel surfaces. The pressure of the gel-like material is affected by centrifugal force, which is sensed by the sensor. The sensor simultaneously detects pressure changes in the gel-like material on opposite sides of the sensor, which permits the detector to sense the angular velocity of rotation of the sensor. The sensor is a semi-conductor pressure sensor formed on a circuit substrate.

  • Patent number: 5982985
Abstract: The first circuit inputs a clock signal from MICON. The second circuit inputs a clock signal corresponding to the clock signal from the first circuit, and outputs a judgment signal continued for a specified time from the time when the clock signal is inputted. The judgment signal is inputted to the third circuit. A standby signal from MICON is inputted to the third circuit. When MICON is normal, the clock signal properly outputted, and to the AND circuit, the second signal is inputted, and if the standby signal is inputted from MICON with the second signal inputted, it can be judged that the standby signal is properly outputted from the normal MICON. Consequently, when both judgment signal and standby signal are inputted, the third circuit outputs the standby active signal to the first circuit.

  • Patent number: 5910718
Abstract: A control circuit outputs a first signal at a predetermined period in the case of being in a normal state and in the case of not being in a normal state, stops the output of the first signal at the predetermined period and outputs a third signal for controlling a motor on the basis of a second signal at a time when a switch SW is operated. In the case that the control circuit is not in a normal state, the first signal is not output at the predetermined period, a fifth signal is output from an output circuit and the second signal passes through a second gate circuit. Then, a drive circuit drives the motor by the second signal passing through the second gate circuit.

  • Patent number: 5807265
Abstract: A catheter having a sensor for detecting forces acting on its distal end includes a catheter tube, a chamber defined in the catheter tube. The chamber is filled with silicon gel. The catheter also has a sensor chip and a cap. The sensor has a pressure sensing surface and a backside. • Patent number: 5755668
Abstract: A catheter provided with a catheter tube that is inserted into a human body. A sensor detects pressure acting on a distal end of the catheter tube when inserted into the human body and outputs an output signal indicating fluctuations of the pressure. A CPU judges whether the waveform of the output signal contains a regular component and an irregular component and separates the output signal into a regular component and an irregular component based on the judgment. Based on the separated irregular component, a judgment is made as to whether an obstruction is present within an insertion path of the catheter.
