  • Publication number: 20100014866
Abstract: A transimpedance amplifier for a burst mode optical communication converts a burst current signal into differential output voltage signals. Using a multi-level digital AGC mechanism, the transimpedance amplifier is rapidly adapted to a burst signal whose amplitude varies in a wide range. By using an adaptive level detection method, a multi-level digital AGC can be implemented without using ADC. In addition, because the transimpedance amplifier uses a selective reset generation scheme that performs a reset operation for itself after a high power burst, a burst mode operation can be performed without external reset signals. Accordingly, the transimpedance amplifier can be integrated with an optical detector within a TO-can. Furthermore, the transimpedance amplifier can have the burst mode capability and the best sensitivity.

  • Publication number: 20090317374
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of cancer comprising arazyme as an active ingredient. More precisely, when arazyme produced by Aranicola proteolycius was administered to the nude mice transplanted with human lung carcinoma cell line, weight gaining, inhibition of tumor cell growth and infiltration, and down-regulations of MMP-9, NF-?B and PCNA, were observed. In addition, when arazyme was treated to human breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231), down regulations of p21, PCNA (Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen), VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor), BCl2 (B-cell CLL/lymphoma 2), p-p38, PKC (Protein Kinase C) and MMP-1 (Matrix MetalloProteinase-1) which are involved in tumor cell growth, differentiation, proliferation and metastasis, were observed along with the up-regulation of catalase which inhibits tumor development. Therefore, the arazyme can be effectively used as a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention and treatment of cancer.

  • Publication number: 20090244111
Abstract: A data processor receives sets of input image data having respective input grays and outputs sets of output image data having respective output grays. Each set of output image data corresponds to one of the plurality of sets of input image data and have more image data than each set of the input image data. A data driver supplies the pixels with data voltages corresponding to the output image data supplied from the data processor. A set of output grays corresponding to a set of input grays are selected from sets of grays, each set of grays giving an average front transmittance substantially equal to an average front transmittance of the set of input grays. The sets of output grays generate the closest average lateral gamma curve generated by the sets of grays relative to an average front gamma curve generated by the input grays.

  • Publication number: 20090231266
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of an electrophoretic display apparatus and an operating method thereof. According to one or more embodiments, an update voltage compensating for the degradation of an image is applied to a related pixel after a predetermined time interval elapses, when a plurality of images are consecutively displayed on one screen. Thus, the update voltage may be prevented from being applied to the pixel before the image degradation occurs, thereby preventing the pixel from being over-charged.

  • Patent number: 7539424
Abstract: Provided is a burst mode optical receiver capable of accurately detecting an optical signal of minimum amplitude, by automatically controlling a gain of a pre-amplifier according to an amplitude of an input optical signal. The burst mode optical receiver can automatically control a gain of a pre-amplifier according to the amplitude of an input optical signal using an output signal of a first peak detector. In other words, when the input optical signal has a small amplitude that meets the receiving sensitivity of the burst mode optical receiver, the gain of the pre-amplifier automatically increases, thereby improving the receiving sensitivity of the burst mode optical receiver.
