Abstract: Devices, methods, and systems are provided for loading an implantable device into a container. One aspect of the loading system contains a loader element with a loading tunnel that is configured to gradually contract an implantable device into a compressed state of reduced size relative to an expanded state as the implantable device travels through the loading tunnel.

Abstract: A cartridge of an intraocular lens inserter comprises an insertion nozzle, having a distal insertion channel; an intra-ocular lens (IOL)-folding stage, to receive and to fold an IOL, proximal to the insertion nozzle, and having a proximal insertion channel; and an IOL-guiding structure. The IOL-guiding structure can include a first proximal guiding groove, or a first proximal guiding rib, or both, formed in the IOL-folding stage. An intraocular lens inserter comprises an inserter cylinder; a push-rod, partially in the inserter cylinder; a cartridge-receiving insertion end, to receive a cartridge that includes an insertion nozzle, having a distal insertion channel; an IOL-folding stage, proximal to the insertion nozzle, having a proximal insertion channel; and an IOL-guiding structure.

Abstract: A dynamically regulated advertising delivery control system. A campaign is operated by sending bids to an exchange responsive to receiving bid requests from the exchange, each bid request representing an opportunity to expose a browser to content. Won bid notifications are received from the exchange and exposure notifications are received from exposed browsers. Failed exposures are detected by detecting won bid notification identifiers without corresponding exposure notification identifiers. Responsive to the failed exposures exceeding an upper limit, the campaign is operated in a throttled mode by sending bids to the exchange in response to a fraction of the suitable bid requests received from the exchange and ignoring some suitable bid requests. Responsive to detecting successful exposures in the throttled mode, the operation of the campaign is dynamically regulated by increasing the fraction.

Abstract: A method for preparation of (meth)acrylate esters of polysiloxanes. The method comprises contacting in the presence of zirconium acetylacetonate or hafnium acetylacetonate: (i) a polysiloxane having at least two hydroxyl groups, each of which is attached to a carbon atom, and (ii) a C1-C4 alkyl (meth)acrylate.

Abstract: An adjustable monument mounting assembly is provided. The assembly comprises a saddle bracket that includes a recessed pocket section with a hole. A threaded adjustable fitting is configured at a first end to fit within the hole in the pocket and is accessible through the pocket. The opposite end of the adjustable fitting is configured to contact a structural mounting point. The adjustable fitting can be rotated within the hole and adjusted to bridge a gap between the saddle bracket and structural mounting point, eliminating the need for a shim. A bolt fits through a center through-hole in the adjustable fitting, allowing the adjustable fitting and bolt couple the saddled bracket to the structural mounting point.

Abstract: In a cloud computing environment, a storage space management system provides for uniform collection of usage statistics for storage disks and storage consumers, including usage statistics for a consumers' storage buckets, where a storage bucket represents a logical container of files, objects or other types of stored data for a given consumer. The system enables automated evaluation of space usage policy against the collected statistics. The system enforces the evaluated policy determinations, including queueing jobs that manage storage disk eligibility for storing data and jobs that direct traffic from storage consumers to storage disks that have sufficient storage available.

Abstract: A data storage medium is disclosed comprising a substrate covered with alternating layers of a polycationic molecule and artificially synthesized DNA molecules encoding digital information. The magnetic substrate may be a metallic nanoparticle formed from a metal such as iron or cobalt. The polycationic molecule may be polyethyleneimine (PEI). The DNA is protected from degradation by encapsulation in silica. A process for stably storing DNA is also disclosed. Stored DNA may be freed from the silica for sequencing or other analysis by washing the silica-coated DNA with a buffered hydrogen fluoride solution. Storage densities of more than 7% DNA by weight are achieved on nanoparticles.

Abstract: A method is provided for geo-location of a wireless target device. The method is able to generate complete statistical information about the target device in the form of a joint probability density function of the target's location. The method includes obtaining time of arrival measurements associated with reception, at a plurality of receiver devices at known or measured locations, of one or more wireless transmissions made by a target device at a location that is unknown. Based on the time of arrival measurements, the method includes computing a joint probability density function that is descriptive of a probability that the target device is within any specified region. The method then involves applying the joint probability density function to a particular specified region to compute the probability that the location of the target device is within the particular specified region.

The transmitter modulates the symbol to produce a modulated symbol, and transmits the modulated symbol. A receiver receives a modulated symbol that conveys a distinct value, and recovers the distinct value using stored mappings.

Abstract: Methods for histochemical and cytochemical detection of oncogenic rearrangements of genes that result in expression of a fusion protein; materials, kits, and systems useful in such methods; and products resulting from performance of such methods are disclosed herein. At least two protein binding entities are provided: one targeting a portion of a wild-type protein that is retained in a fusion protein and a one targeting a portion of the wild type protein that is lost during the rearrangement that forms the fusion protein. A sample of a tissue suspected of harboring the fusion protein is stained with each of the two entities (either in simplex format or multiplex format), and the staining pattern resulting from binding of the entities is compared to determine the presence or absence of the fusion protein.

The high surface area coatings use three-dimensional space to provide more area for functional groups to bind polymers than an untreated solid substrate. The polymers may be oligonucleotides, polypeptides, or another type of polymer. The solid substrate is a rigid supportive layer made from a material such as glass, a silicon material, a metal material, and plastic. The coating may be thin films, hydrogels, microparticles. The coating may be made from a metal oxide, a high-? dielectric, a low-? dielectric, an etched metal, a carbon material, or an organic polymer. The functional groups may be hydroxyl groups, amine groups, thiolate groups, alkenes, n-alkenes, alkalines, N-Hydroxysuccinimide (NHS)-activated esters, polyaniline, aminosilane groups, silanized oxides, oligothiophenes, and diazonium compounds.
