    Abstract: A method for generating sequence numbers for an RLP frame in a mobile communication system is provided. The method includes the steps of generating a sequence number tree having a plurality of nodes each associated with frame information and a data rate; upon receipt of a sequence number request from an RLP controller, reading, at an RLP sequence number generator, frame information for a designated node from the sequence number tree and providing the read frame information to the RLP controller; and upon receipt of the frame information in response to the sequence number request, transmitting and receiving a frame at the RLP controller.

The method for forming the transparent layer on the disc substrate includes covering an axial hole formed at a center of the disc substrate with a cover element by inserting a protrusion of the cover element in the axial hole of the disc substrate so that a resin does not leak through the axial hole, dispensing the resin toward the center of the disc substrate from an upper side of the disc substrate, and removing the cover element. A more uniform transparent layer can be obtained throughout the disc substrate.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing an optical disc includes easily removing a bump formed on a circumference of the optical disc during forming a transparent layer by using a spin-coating method to form the optical disk having a high-density recording capacity. The method includes preparing a substrate having a diameter larger than that of a desired disc, applying an ultraviolet hardening resin to the substrate and forming a transparent layer having a predetermined thickness by a spin-coating method, illuminating an ultraviolet ray on the transparent layer and a bump formed on a circumference of the transparent layer to be hardened, and cutting out the bump by using a puncher. According to the method, the bump which inevitably occurs when the transparent layer is formed, can be easily cut out by a puncher.

The apparatus for encoding n bits of data of a data bus, includes a conditional inverting unit for inverting each of (n−1) lower bits of n data when the most significant bit of the n bits of data is 1, a storage unit for storing the last n bits of data which is output to the bus, and a first exclusive OR operating unit for performing a bitwise exclusive OR operation on the lower (n−1) bits or data, which has been inverted by the conditional inverting unit, and the lower (n−1) bits of the n data, which has been stored in the storage unit, wherein the most significant bit of the n bits of data and (n−1) bits of data, which is obtained as the result of the bitwise exclusive OR operation performed by the first exclusive OR operating unit, are output.

A post has a window of an upper electrode and a current aperture of an oxidized layer. Resonated light is emitted through the window and the current aperture. The post is formed by a sidewall of a pre-oxidized layer included in the post is exposed, and the pre-oxidized layer is horizontally oxidized by an oxidizing process by a predetermined distance from the sidewall thereof. An oxidized portion of the pre-oxidized layer becomes a high-resistance portion, and an un-oxidized portion of the pre-oxidized layer becomes the current aperture through which a current or light passes.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for handing-off a mobile station receiving packet data over a second channel from a first base station system (BSS) to a second BSS by a base station controller (BSC) in a system in which the mobile station communicates with the first BSS and the second BSS adjacent to the first BSS through a first channel for transmitting a control message, and the mobile station communicates with the first BSS through the second channel for transmitting the packet data. In the method, the mobile station measures receiving strengths of pilot channels transmitted from the first BSS and the second BSS, and transmits the measured receiving strengths to the BSC through the first BSS and the second BSS. The first and second BSSs each calculate available transmission power allocable to the second channel and transmits the calculated available transmission power to the BSC.

    Abstract: An analog mixed digital DLL includes a digital mode controller and an analog mode controller. The digital mode controller compares phases of delay clock signals outputted from a plurality of delay blocks and a first clock signal, detects an initial locking point, selects one delay clock signal at the detected initial locking point and controls the operation of the delay clocks. The analog mode controller compares the phase of the delay clock signal selected by the digital mode controller and the phase of a first clock signal. The analog mixed digital DLL can provide an externally inputted first control voltage or a second control voltage to the delay blocks in accordance with the digital and analog operation modes and implements a wide band frequency operation, has a short duration of jitters, prevents a multi-locking during a wide band frequency operation and decreases a current consumption.

    Abstract: A photodetector device includes a doped semiconductor substrate. The photodetector device, a p-i-n photodetector, has an I region including the intrinsic semiconductor layers with different thicknesses, and a main reflector therebetween. The thickness of the entire I region can be increased with a reduced transit distance for holes.
