    Abstract: An information search method and apparatus employ an Inverse Hidden Markov Model (IHMM) for stochastically searching for a reference information model among a plurality of predetermined reference information models obtained by training that best matches unknown information which is expressed by a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) chain. The method and apparatus find an optimal path in a HMM state lattice using a minimum unlikelihood score, rather than a maximum likelihood score, and using a Viterbi algorithm, to recognize unknown information, so that unnecessary computations are avoided. The method and apparatus can be used for finding the most likely path through a vocabulary network for a given utterance.

    Abstract: A semiconductor light-emitting device having a resonant cavity structure for emitting light perpendicularly to the plane of an active region, and a method of manufacturing the same. A post has a window of an upper electrode and a current aperture of an oxidized layer. Resonated light is emitted through the window and the current aperture. The post is formed by a sidewall of a pre-oxidized layer included in the post is exposed, and the pre-oxidized layer is horizontally oxidized by an oxidizing process by a predetermined distance from the sidewall thereof. An oxidized portion of the pre-oxidized layer becomes a high-resistance portion, and an un-oxidized portion of the pre-oxidized layer becomes the current aperture through which a current or light passes.

Each logical channel mapper converts a received data block mapped on a logical channel to a traffic in a predetermined format. Each physical channel multiplexer/demultiplexer defines a traffic receivable from a logical channel mapper, receives the traffic from the logical channel mapper, and demultiplexes the traffic into a corresponding physical channel.

The method includes preparing a substrate having a diameter larger than that of a desired disc, applying an ultraviolet hardening resin to the substrate and forming a transparent layer having a predetermined thickness by a spin-coating method, illuminating an ultraviolet ray on the transparent layer and a bump formed on a circumference of the transparent layer to be hardened, and cutting out the bump by using a puncher. According to the method, the bump which inevitably occurs when the transparent layer is formed, can be easily cut out by a puncher.
