    Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide a computer-implemented technique for creating a log chain from multiple software component logs. The log chain can include log information from multiple software components that interact with each other. In embodiments, a locality-sensitive hashing technique is used to create a signature of a log chain. Machine-learning systems are trained with log chains generated from test execution, and/or log chains from incidents with deployed software. In embodiments, logs are pre-processed by tokenizing and trimming. Logs from various components that interact with each other may be combined into a temporally sequential log chain. The signature of the log chain may be used to identify additional information about the error from a machine-learning process that was trained on previously generated log chains. In this way, the time required to identify a problem can be significantly reduced, resulting in increased reliability and availability of complex computer systems.

    Abstract: A data-replication system replicates a source database to a target database by first intelligently identifying and prioritizing a set of hot queries that have each in the past been submitted to the source database at a rate exceeding a threshold submission rate. Any previously replicated content contained in a database table accessed by a hot query is copied to a set of memory-resident blocks. The blocks are then updated with incremental changes made to the table's contents since the most-recent previous replication. Each updated block is copied to the target database in order of the priority of the block's corresponding hot query. When all blocks that contain data of a particular table have been copied into the target database, that table becomes available to users of the target database despite the fact that the entire database has not yet been fully replicated.

The query has multiple conditions whose execution produces a final result. Amounts of filtering of portions of the data caused by utilizing different types of indexes to filter the portions are determined. Greatest amounts of filtering for the portions are determined. Types of indexes are selected so that a utilization of a given type of index causes a greatest amount of filtering for a given portion. Data access methods for the portions of data are generated. During runtime, process tasks are generated for the multiple conditions in the query. An execution flow is controlled. The execution flow executes the process tasks by utilizing the data access methods to generate initial results. The final result of the query is generated by combining the initial results from the process tasks.

    Abstract: A linear asymmetric method for examining branch-outage-type steady-state security of AC power networks is provided. Two linear expressions of bus injection active and reactive powers in terms of translation voltages and voltage angles of all buses are established. Then a linear asymmetric matrix-equation model for the steady state of the network is built considering the reference bus number. Manipulating this model produces the matrix expression of branch-not-outage-type translation voltages and voltage angles of non-reference buses and the bus impedance matrix with the reference bus discarded. The branch-outage-type translation-voltage increments and voltage-angle increments of non-reference buses are then obtained by the bus impedance matrix and the outage branch using the calculation formula of ordinary inverse of a modified matrix. The examination of the steady-state security of the network is achieved using these increments.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a lateral drifting error is determined based on at least a current location of an ADV. The lateral drifting error is segmented into a first drifting error and a second drifting error using a predetermined segmentation algorithm. A planning module plans a path or trajectory for a current driving cycle (e.g., planning cycle) to drive the ADV from the current location for a predetermined period of time. The planning module performs a first drifting error correction on the trajectory by modifying at least a starting point of the trajectory based on the first drifting error to generate a modified trajectory. A control module controls the ADV to drive according to the modified trajectory, including performing a second drifting error correction based on the second drifting error.

A second localization curve is generated as a result representing the locations of the ADV along the path tracked by the second localization system. A system delay of the second localization system is determined by comparing the second localization curve against the first localization curve as a localization reference. The system delay of the second localization system can then be utilized to compensate path planning of the ADV subsequently.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, instead of using map data, a relative coordinate system is utilized to assist perception of the driving environment surrounding an ADV for some driving situations. One of such driving situations is driving on a highway. Typically, a highway has fewer intersections and exits. The relative coordinate system is utilized based on the relative lane configuration and relative obstacle information to control the ADV to simply follow the lane and avoid potential collision with any obstacles discovered within the road, without having to use map data. Once the relative lane configuration and obstacle information have been determined, regular path and speed planning and optimization can be performed to generate a trajectory to drive the ADV. Such a perception system is referred to as a relative perception system based on a relative coordinate system.

    Abstract: A method, system, and program product for modifying a high performance multi-write database is provided. The method includes registering data pages configured for reading by a first node within a buffer pool structure of a database. Share lock functionality is enabled. The share lock functionality is disabled after the first node has completed reading the data pages and the data pages are registered with respect to a second node for writing functionality. A notification indicating that a group of data pages has expired is generated and transmitted to the second node. Exclusive lock functionality for allowing the second node to read and modify the data pages is enabled and after the modification the exclusive lock functionality is disabled. Reading functionality is enabled for the first and second nodes to read the group of data pages from a high performance cache structure of the buffer pool structure.
