After ethanol and water extraction, Antrodia cinnamomea wastes are dried and superfine-comminuted to obtain Antrodia cinnamomea waste powder. The waste powder treated with NaOH solution containing NaBH4 is extracted it twice to obtain two extracts. The two extracts are combined and an appropriate amount of glacial acetic acid are added for neutralization. The extracts are centrifugalized and precipitate is collected. After washing the precipitate with ultrapure water, the precipitate is dissolved with LiCl-DMSO. The precipitate that is insoluble in the LiCl-DMSO solution is dialyzed and freeze-dried to obtain the water-insoluble dietary fiber component ACA-IDK of Antrodia cinnamomea.
