    Abstract: Software instructions are executed on a processor within a computer system to configure a steaming engine to operate in either a linear mode or a transpose mode. A stream of addresses is generated using an address generator, in which the stream of addresses includes consecutive nested loop iterations for at least a first loop and a second loop. While in the linear mode, the first loop is treated as an inner loop. While in the transpose mode, the second loop is treated as the inner loop. A matrix can be fetched from memory in the linear mode to provide row-wise vectors. A matrix can be fetched from the memory in the transpose mode to provide column wise vectors. Local storage on the streaming engine is organized as sectors based on the number of rows in the matrix to allow overlapping transposition processing and to minimize memory accesses.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a rotating electric machine, such as a dynamometer. The rotor of the machine comprises a circular row of resultant magnetic poles of which the polarity forms an alternation of opposed poles. Data is protecting from corruption using an error correction code by generating an error correction code corresponding to the data. In this invention the data and the corresponding error correction code are carried forward to another set of registers without regenerating the error correction code or using the error correction code for error detection or correction. Only later are error correction detection and correction actions taken. The differing data/error correction code registers may be in differing pipeline phases in the data processing apparatus. This invention forwards the error correction code with the data through the entire datapath that carries the data. This invention provides error protection to the whole datapath without requiring extensive hardware or additional time.

The magnetic sensor includes a magnetic layer of a closed loop shape; a pair of current terminals which face each other contacting with the closed loop and through which current is input/output; and a pair of voltage terminals which face each other contacting with the closed loop and from which output voltage is detected. Both an anisotropic magnetoresistance effect (AME) and a planar Hall effect (PHE) contribute to the output voltage and a hysteresis of the output voltage is eliminated by exchange coupling of a ferromagnetic layer by a ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic layer structure and a ferromagnetic-metal-antiferromagnetic layer structure. Accordingly, it is possible to minimize a hysteresis due to a demagnetization factor of the closed loop, stabilize the output voltage of the magnetic sensor and enhance sensitivity.

    Abstract: The present application concerns a test engine hood for a turbine engine, such as a double flow turbine. The test hood allows replacement of a flight engine hood during tests on a test bench on the ground where the temperature conditions could damage the flight hood. The test hood includes a tubular wall of carbon-fibre epoxy composite, and metal flanges upstream and downstream. To provide thermal protection, the test hood includes a layer of silicone with a majority of polysiloxane. The layer covers the entire inner surface of the wall to create a barrier. The present application also concerns a method for testing a turbine engine on a test bench, where the turbine engine is fitted with a test casing. The present application also concerns a use of silicone for thermal insulation of the inside of the test hood of the turbine engine on a test bench on the ground.

    Abstract: This invention optimizes DMA writes to directly addressable level two memory that is cached in level one and the line is valid and dirty. When the level two controller detects that a line is valid and dirty in level one, the level two memory need not update its copy of the data. Level one memory will replace the level two copy with a victim writeback at a future time. Thus the level two memory need not store write a copy. This limits the number of DMA writes to level two directly addressable memory and thus improves performance and minimizes dynamic power. This also frees the level two memory for other master/requestors.
