  • Publication number: 20090116512
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving control information in a system in which one or more Radio Frequencies (RFs) are used to carry multiple services through a frame constituted by time resources or time-frequency resources. Control information regarding frame configuration information is not transmitted over a separate control channel but over a data channel through which to transmit primary service traffic among all service traffic, and each non-primary service traffic other than the primary service traffic includes control information for a primary service. Thus, even when a receiver changes the current service to a target service, control information necessary to detect the location of the target service in a frame and demodulate the target service can be acquired, and thus a service change can be made without reading a separate control channel.

  • Patent number: 7403513
Abstract: A method for transmitting pilot bits instead of partial bits of CQI (Channel Quality Indicator) information indicating channel quality of an HS-PDSCH (High Speed-Physical Downlink Shared CHannel) in a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) communication system such that a Node B can control power of a high-speed uplink control channel. The system transmits high-speed packet data from the Node-B to UE (User Equipment) through the HS-PDSCH, and the UE is located in a handover area between the Node-B and another Node-B adjacent thereto. Predetermined bits are then removed from given bits of the code symbols. The removed bits are then replaced with high-speed pilot bits for power control.

  • Patent number: 7342535
Abstract: A beam-forming apparatus and method for improving system performance using a spatial interpolation and at least one Angle of Arrival (AoA) in a system based on regular spatial sampling is provided. The AoA is estimated using a carrier-to-interference ratio. Beam-forming angles are distributed and steered in a predefined scheme such that an identical process is applied in all directions. According to this steering, a linear system model is computed based on regular spatial sampling using regular spatial separation at beam angles. Beam-forming performance is improved by compensating for a difference between adaptive and sector-type arrays. Only the steps of computing a spatial interpolation and determining an angle range for beam-forming using at least one AoA are added. The precision of estimating an AoA and the precision of beam-forming increase without an additional antenna. Because the system is simpler than that of an adaptive beam-forming system, significant gain is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20080028459
Abstract: A security management method in a mobile communication system supporting Proxy Mobile Internet Protocol (IP). In the security management method, a Mobile Node (MN), a Serving Packet Data Service Node (S-PDSN), and an Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) server generate a security key of the Proxy Mobile IP. Upon receipt of information for authentication of a security key from the MN, the S-PDSN sends an access request message to the AAA server and receives information for verification of the security key. The S-PDSN sends a first message for requesting verification of the security-related key to a Home Agent (HA). The HA verifies the security-related key through the AAA server and sends a second message to the S-PDSN when the security-related key is verified. The S-PDSN sends a message indicating initiation of the Proxy Mobile IP, to the MN.

  • Patent number: 7313116
Abstract: A method of performing an inter-RAT measurement for a handover from NB-TDD to GSM is provided. A UE, as it moves from an NB-TDD Node B to a GSM cell, receives a measurement control message from the NB-TDD Node B. The UE then measures the strength of a signal received from the GSM cell and verifies its identification for a predetermined measuring time. If the UE successfully verifies the identification of the GSM cell for the measuring time, it reports the signal strength measurement and the verified GSM cell identification to the NB-TDD Node B. If the UE fails to verify the identification of the GSM cell for the measuring time, it reports only the signal strength measurement to the NB-TDD Node B.
